About: Vinta, Rem'ii   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.webdatacommons.org associated with source dataset(s)

While Rem'ii was born on her species' homeworld of Nagi, the young Nagai's memories of the planet are hazy at best. Most of what she knows about her early life is what her older brother, Raile, has told her. It seems that when she was no older than three, her parents smuggled their children off the war-ravaged world and ventured into known space. Their unfamiliarity with the galaxy and its languages caused the family to wander aimlessly for several years, picking up odd jobs where they could and otherwise venturing from planet to planet, searching for a place they might fit in.

In 4 ABY, the family was hopeful as they made their way to Zeltros, where they hoped that the seemingly carefree Zeltrons might accept them. Unfortunately, their arrival to the planet came only days after the Nagai had attempted to invade. Though the invasion was ultimately unsuccessful and lead to the Nagai joining forces with the Alliance of Free Planets, the Zeltrons that the Vinta family encountered proved to be less than welcoming. The parents were attacked by an angry mob due to their race and murdered in cold blood, leaving Raile and Rem'ii to fend for themselves. For several months, the young siblings lived on the streets. Eventually they were picked up by a man named Xabier Mefrid who, intrigued by their exotic appearance, saw potential in the children and brought them into his traveling circus. Xabier's intuition proved right; The Vinta children took quickly and easily to their new life, eager to please and reveling in the chance to act like kids for the first time in their childhood. As they grew up and started performing, Rem'ii and Raile would come to be known as the Grey Ghosts, building a double-act that was an eerie combination of acrobatics and fire-eating.
