- Massee was mostly known for his role as Ira Gaines on 24. He was also known for his unintentional and accidental involvement in the death of Brandon Lee. Michael Massee discharged the weapon that fired via malfunction and killed Brandon Lee in 1993 during filming of The Crow. The shooting was ruled an accident, but Massee was nevertheless devastated, returning to New York and not working for a year as a result. More recently Michael Massee portrayed imprisoned serial killer Charles Hoyt in the first two seasons of the TV series Rizzoli & Isles.
