  • The Rock Lobster (or Nobellius-rock-lobstericus) is a rare species of death crustacean known famously for it's witty sense of humour and ability to instantly kill most large mammals in it's vice-pincer grip of doom. Though now technically endangered some may argue that the rock lobsters numbers are far greater than before, we just may not be able to see them due to their incredible rock like appearance.
  • Around 1920 PD, Evelina Detweiler had brought a new cook to her and her husband Albrecht's household on Mesa, who could do something amazing with Terran rock lobster. (HH11)
  • "Rock Lobster" was the first single released by the rock band the B-52's, and one of their signature tunes. The song consists largely of instrumental music, with occasional nonsensical lyrics and the repetition of the words "Rock Lobster". It was performed by the Rock Lobsters in episode 204 of Muppets Tonight.
  • Rock lobsters are found in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon's fifth sub-level, in Room 16. They are similar to Giant rock crabs in the fact that they are initially disguised as large rocks, but they will attack the player as they approach. They have very high Defence (though they are weak to Magic attacks) and can hit up to 15 Hitpoints, but rarely hit over 11 Hitpoints. Their attack speed is two bars faster than the Abyssal whip (as fast as darts on Rapid), making them incredibly dangerous.
  • Rock lobsters are weak to water spells. Players are advised to kill them by casting Water Wave, Ice Burst, or better using a staff, such as a crystal staff or better, and Magic Power armour, such as robes of subjugation. Low-levelled players may wish to bring an emergency teleport and food, such as sharks. As rock lobsters frequently drop charms, players should use a charming imp. Soul Split can be used to eliminate the need for food or safe-spotting. Players may also use Blood Burst/Barrage in order to heal.
  • Rock lobster are notable for being extremely edible as well as, frequently, being mistaken for rocks. The reason for this common mistake is unknown, as they really don't resemble rocks that much. Maybe red rocks with eight legs and claws and antennae, but how many of those do you see? I couldn't even find one on eBay. And, usually, you can find rocks shaped like all kinds of stuff on eBay. One of the cornerstones of the playground economy is finding rocks, deciding they look like stuff, and putting them on eBay. Wait, what was I talking about? Oh, yeah. Rock lobster.
  • "Rock Lobster" is a song by The B-52's Many B-52's songs have fun, whimsical lyrics, and this is one of them. It's about a beach party where someone encounters a rock lobster. John Lennon heard this song playing in a Bermuda disco in 1979. It reminded him of Yoko Ono's music so much that it inspired him to return to the recording studio after a 5 year retirement. The B52s' guitarist Keith Strickland recalled to Q magazine that at the end of the song, "Cindy does this scream that was inspired by Yoko Ono. John heard it in some club in the Bahamas, and the story goes that he calls up Yoko and says, Get the axe out – they're ready for us again! Yoko has said that she and John were listening to us in the weeks before he died." (This interview is available at Rock's Backpages).
  • Rock Lobsters are enemies in Mother 3. While they bear a resemblance to the Spineless Lobster found in the passage between Nippolyte's shack and Osohe Castle, the Rock Lobster is stronger and found on the sea floor between Cerulean Beach and Tanetane Island. Their glasses are similar to those of Teddy in EarthBound Beginnings. Its battle sound is Battle Sound 54 which falls under Code Numbers 921 for regular attack, 922 for Smaaaash! and 923 for Miss. It is very possible these enemies are a reference to the song "Rock Lobster" by the B52's.
  • "Rock Lobster" is a 1978 recording, the first single released by the rock band The B-52s. A longer version appeared on the band's 1979 self-titled debut album, The B-52's. It was performed by Peter Griffin on his guitar in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" to help cheer up his friend Cleveland Brown after discovering his wife cheated on him with another friend. Even though Peter is shown to be the only one playing the guitar, it's actually two six-string acoustic guitars in the verses, and two 12-string guitars in the chorus.
