Scheduled Parts Replacement (SPR) is the care and servicing by personnel for the intended purpose of replacing parts for maintaining equipment in a satisfactory operating condition on a routine, systematic scheduled PM inspection; detection; and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. These parts and supplies maintained in clinical engineering will be classified as repair parts inventory, except for parts ordered for immediate use and common stock hardware items such as nuts, bolts, batteries, washers, pipe fittings, cotter pins, and wire.
