John Rogers (1775-1846) was the last elected Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation West, elected in October, 1839. Rogers was the nephew of previous Cherokee Nation West principal chiefs Tahlonteskee and John Jolly. His relationship to Jolly also made him kin to Jolly's adopted white son, Sam Houston. Rogers's sister, Tiana Rogers, was married to Houston for a time.
