The Spirit World is a world inhabited by spirits of the deceased. The world itself is full of floating islands clouded by fog, containing various platforms, buildings, as well as the spirits of some animals. These can only be seen and/or used, however, by being in Spirit Form, which can be temporarily granted to outsiders through the use of a Spirit Vent. Its first and only appearance has been in Tak and the Power of Juju, where Tak is sent to retrieve Lok's Spirit, as well as collect any nearby Yorbels.

  • According to Hajian voodoo, the spirit world is the plane in which a pantheon of spirits known as the loa inhabit. It is from there the loa manipulate the material universe. Mortals that look into the spirit world are said to receive visions from the loa. When Jim Raynor began using an ihan crystal to view the memories of Zeratul, Gabriel Tosh attributed the ability to transfer memories as seeing into the spirit world. He warned Raynor of the dangers of such an act.
  • The Spirit World was a mysterious location where few could access. A number of Voss Mystics were found here as well as a datacron left behind by the Infinite Empire. It could be entered when meditating in front of a special meditation tablet. One such tablet was located in the Lake of the Unseen in the Nightmare Lands on the planet of Voss.

  • The spirit world (also called ghost world, astral realm, or World of Spirits) is the place where creatures go when they die, it could be described as the generic term of "afterlife" in the Warcraft universe.
  • The Spirit World, or Huntik, is the dimension from which the Titans and the Nullifiers originated. When a Titan's Amulet is permanently destroyed, the Titan is banished back to Huntik. If a Titan remains out of its Amulet when its Seeker dies, if and the Titan runs out of energy, the Titan may also be returned to the Spirit World. The primary remaining means of bridging between Huntik and Earth are through summoning a Titan via an Amulet, through using Overlos' ability, or through a Nexus, a gateway to Huntik.
  • The Spirit World was one of the planes of existence in the World Tree cosmology. It was home to the Celestial Empire and its Bureaucracy, the overarching pantheon of Kara-Tur.
  • The Spirit World is the third smallest world from the three worlds. It is inhabited by spirits of the animals, moons, and not humans. Gods and Godesses also live here.
  • The spirit world, according to some religions, is the place where man's eternal soul lives forever after his life on earth; see afterlife. Christianity generally discourages speculation about conditions in the spirit world, although it acknowledges life after death. The fire and brimstone preachers of the Great Awakening and some 19th century and 20th century preachers emphasized punishments awaiting the wicked and faithless in hell, but aside from Swedenborg few have tried to describe Purgatory, Paradise or other non-hellacious places in the spiritual world.
  • Mormonism teaches that after death, the spirit of every man and woman goes to a place known as the spirit world. Mormon doctrine teaches that the soul of man is immortal and existed prior to this earth life in what Mormons call the pre-mortal life. The post-mortal world of spirits, according to the prophet Joseph Smith, is an actual place where deceased spirits reside and "where they converse together the same as we do on the earth" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 353). According to the Doctrine and Covenants, in heaven, "that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy" (Doctrine and Covenants 130:2). Bruce R. McConkie, a former Apostle in the Church said that, "[l]ife and work
  • The spirit world is the ephemeral realm of the afterlife. It bridges all realities, but is not intrinsically tied to any one specific reality. Whenever a sentient organism dies, their souls pass through the spirit world into the Afterlife. The afterlife may be different for all and is dependent upon the belief system of the individual. The Spirit World is inhabited by displaced souls whom, for one reason or another, are restricted from passing on to their final reward. The spirit world is also occupied by various phantasms and spirit entities.
  • The personalities of Spirit World's inhabitants are conducive to studying as much as possible about a subject and then acting on whatever choice seems to be the best option for a particular situation. This includes positive outcomes like restoring Yusuke Urameshi back to life when they couldn't decide his final place in the afterlife based on his last action before his first death, because said action greatly contradicted his observed personality, or negative outcomes like attempting to annihilate Yusuke once he was discovered to be a Mazoku descendant based on the potential damage he was capable of causing. Koenma, George, and Botan used to have these mindsets until they were all changed by Yusuke and as a result, they have stronger and more friendly bonds with others. Inhabitants include
  • The Spirit World is a lush and vast world that coexists with the Natural World. It is possibly where people from the Natural World go when they die, as all previous Avatars live within the Spirit World after their deaths in the Natural World. The worlds are closest together during a solstice, and are therefore easier to cross between. Certain parts of the Natural World bridge over to the Spirit World, such as the Spirit Oasis in the North Pole, the Fire Temple on Crescent Island, and the great tree at the center of the swamp in the Earth Kingdom. However, the greatest bridge between the two worlds is the Avatar. Only a few people have ever been to the Spirit World to our knowledge. We have seen Sokka and several villagers disappear there with Hei Bai in "Winter Solstice Part 1: The Spirit
  • Prior to 171 AG and the opening of the spirit portals, it was extremely difficult and rare for any human, other than the Avatar, to enter the Spirit World; conversely, only a handful of spirits were capable of existing physically in the mortal world, and doing so required them to give up their immortality. The Spirit World and the physical world are closest together during the solstices, which made it possible for spirits to manifest in the mortal world and for humans to pass into the Spirit World. There are also certain locations in the physical world which act as bridges to the Spirit World; these locations are often revered by the cultures living near them, such as the Spirit Oasis in the North Pole. The Avatar acted as a spiritual bridge between both worlds and can travel between them
  • The Spirit World, also known as the Underworld or the Other World, is a region that may be under the surface of the earth or in a hypothetical parallel universe. It may also be connected in some way to Avalon, the Land of Eternal Youth where the Sidhe dwell, served by the pixies. The Spirit World is apparently the place where the souls of the recently departed go and is possibly the place where heaven and hell are located. It is a place of darkness and of ancient and evil spirits.
  • The Spirit World is the afterlife of Orgs where they are sent after being destroyed in battle. Duke Org Onikage trapped the Wild Force Rangers here with his dark powers, but they were freed and able to destroy him when the Pegasus Megazord was created and arrived to aid them. Toxica was also sent her after falling in battle due to being used as a living shield by Mandilok, but was rescued by Jindrax. Master Org subsequently revived apparently mindless versions of Retinax, Nayzor, and Mandilok from the Spirit World to guard The Nexus while he completed his new Org Heart, but they were soon destroyed by the Rangers. Since then, the Spirit World is presumed to be the final state of all Orgs destroyed by the Rangers.

The Spirit World is inhabited by displaced souls whom, for one reason or another, are restricted from passing on to their final reward. The spirit world is also occupied by various phantasms and spirit entities. In the corporeal world, magic users, low-level psychics and mediums can communicate with those souls that reside within the spirit world, oftentimes, providing them with the means for escaping. One of the most renowned mediums is the mysterious Madame Xanadu. The displaced spirit known as Deadman can freely traverse the spirit world, but usually prefers taking residence within the body of a living human being. Some powerful mystics possess the abiilty to tear a soul free from a living form and casting it into the spirit world. These rituals, often violent in nature, are commonly used by dark magicians. People from Native American culture have extremely strong ties to the spirit world and can often conduct rituals to communicate with those on the other side. This also includes animal spirits who are held in very high regard in Native American society.
