Charlton "Charlie" Hewitt, Jr., a.k.a Sheriff Hoyt appears as Leatherface's adoptive brother/step-uncle in the 2003 remake of the 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and its 2006 prequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. In both films, he serves as the secondary antagonist. However, given the fact that he is responsible for his family's turn to cannibalism and is often the one to lure unsuspecting victims to the Hewitt residence to be killed and eaten, he is arguably an even greater threat than Leatherface.
