The 2002 New England 300 was a Winston Cup Series event held at New Hampshire International Speedway on July 21, 2002. Cautions were prevelant during the event due to repaving jobs that were heavily criticized. Matt Kenseth seemed to be immune to this, dominating the latter portions of the race. But a late tire issue for Kenseth gave Ward Burton his final career victory, holding off Jeff Green by 3.2 seconds.
