He played junior hockey for the Regina Boat Club in 1922-23 and for the Regina Pats in 1923-24 and 1924-25, winning the Memorial Cup in 1925. Ingram then played senior for the Regina Victorias in 1925-26 and Fort William in 1926-27. Ingram turned pro with the Regina Capitals in 1926-27 and then played two seasons for the St. Paul Saints. In 1929 the Saints sold his rights to the Chicago Black Hawks. He played two and a half seasons for the Hawks, including scoring 17 goals in 1930-31. He played in a total of 101 NHL games and scored 24 goals and 16 assists.
