Sein Vorgänger war Assassin's Creed II und sein Nachfolger ist Assassin's Creed: Revelations, womit es der dritte Teil der Serie ist. Das Spiel wurde bis Ende April über 7 Millionen mal verkauft. Im Spiel geht es darum, dass man den Eden-Apfel, mithilfe von Erinnerungen seiner Vorfahren, in der Gegenwart findet.
