| - Billy Tibbetts (born October 14, 1974 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a professional hockey player who last attended Boston Bruins training camp. On September 18, 2006, Tibbetts was officially released from the club. Previously, he had played for the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL. After his season with the New York Rangers, Tibbetts would go on to play with several minor league teams across the country. On January 8, 2004, Tibbetts would sign with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL). On October 5, 2004, Tibbetts re-signed with the San Diego Gulls (1995-2006) of the ECHL. In 2005–06 he started the season with the Rockford IceHogs of the UHL. On December 8, 2005, Rockford Icehogs announced that they loaned Tibbetts to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. In the 2006–07 season, Tibbetts didn't play in the autumn until he signed a tryout with HPK of the Finnish SM-liiga. After only four games with HPK, Tibbetts signed with HIFK of the same league for the rest of the season. On November 7, 2007 he signed a contract with EHC Olten, Switzerland (Nationalliga B). On February 18, 2009, Tibbetts signed a three-game contract with the Huntsville Havoc (Southern Professional Hockey League). He served a term in prison which kept him out of hockey from 1996-2000.
