- Soundwave (born Joseph O'Brien; January 6, 32495 BC in Decepticon City, Cybertron) is the Grammy-winning former bass player of The Decepticons and current lead singer of The Tape Delays.
- Soundwave is a Decepticon in the Transformers franchise. He was Megatron's most loyal minion and transforms into a cassette player. Unlike the most other Decepticons, he is emotionless, but probably due to his more "robotic" character traits. In the original cartoon, the Michael Bay films, and Prime, Soundwave is portrayed by famous voice actor Frank Welker. In the Cybertron games, he is played by Issac C. Singleton Jr, and is portrayed by Jeff Bennett in the Animated series.
- In "The Courtship of Stewie's Father", it is revealed he works at the Pawtucket Brewery after Opie's promotion allows him to take his place. It is also revealed he has a human wife named Denise, and has three kids with her.
