The George Hotel was one of the most expensive hotels in New Jersey, run by former singer Micky MacHale. The hotel was a front for a major Barzini family gambling racket run by Francesco Barzini, and was also known to harbour the offices and safehouse of underboss Emilio Barzini, Jr. until he departed for his own safety in 1948.
