In 2650, Dimitri Volstov served as a general in the Stellar Consortium's Vanguard military organization. Sivadian by birth, Volstov spent most of his time on the military starbase Citadel. But in 2651, he became involved in the Bright Horizons project. This genetic engineering project, ostensibly created by the Consortium government to fight diseases, turned out to be a military cloning effort bent on making perfect soldiers to defend against the Nall. When the Thul got finished with Volstov, he was a vaguely man-shaped slug creature that referred to itself as Voshtov.

  • In 2650, Dimitri Volstov served as a general in the Stellar Consortium's Vanguard military organization. After the scandal broke, Volstov tried to blame it on the Demarian government and declared martial law on the felinoid homeworld. He was shot and killed by Remy LeBeau. The Volstov killed on Demaria was actually a clone, however. The real Volstov re-entered the galactic stage as a majordomo to Lord Fagin, guiding the design and implementation of the Legion virus - another attempt to create ideal warriors. As Sanctuary fled the known worlds to escape the Kretonian invasion, Volstov and Lord Fagin hid aboard the colony vessel and set up a secret headquarters inside the superstructure. While in Hiverspace, the lair was discovered and the two masterminds were taken into custody. The refugees aboard Sanctuary traded Volstov and Fagin to the Thul in exchange for returning the colony vessel to normalspace. When the Thul got finished with Volstov, he was a vaguely man-shaped slug creature that referred to itself as Voshtov. In early 3004, Volstov's affliction was cured, he returned to normal and went back to Sivad. He killed a reclusive tycoon, Ashton Sinclair, and assumed his identity. Once this charade was discovered, Volstov stood trial. He was acquitted of the murder by a hung jury, but plead guilty to three charges of fraud and impersonation and was sentenced by Judge Julius Latimer to no less than fifteen years in the mines of Morrigan.
