  • Second only to Marienburg as a trading port for the northern Old World, Erengrad sits at the mouth of the river Lynsk, and is the Kislevite city most likely to be visited and populated by other Old Worlders. Erengrad's architecture is low, few buildings save temples rise more than two storeys. Its walls are mostly wooden, with a great bronze gate set facing the south-east, where the road to Middenheim begins.

  • Erengrad is second only to Marienburg among the northern ports of the Old World. Through its harbours pass the innumerable wares of the Norscan coast - whale oil, sea-ivory, timber, tar, and fish. Ships based in the city journey far to the north to trade with the barbaric Norsemen and Norse Dwarfs, braving the dangers of the terrible northern seas, which seethe with the malformations and malintent of the noisome Gods of Chaos. Upon the quays of Erengrad, Norse rub shoulders with traders from as far away as the great trading centres of Marienburg, L'Anguille, and occasionally with sailors from ports as far distant as Bilbali and Magritta. The city stands at the head of the chill waters from the River Lynsk, within a huge lagoon that offers shelter from the cold sea and the ravening winds of Chaos that blow from the north. The principle trading docklands are situated on a sizeable island, joined to the main city by means of a fabulous timber bridge built upon vast piles sunk deep into the bed of the lagoon. The architecture is unique to the region - few buildings are over two storeys in height, apart from the many temple towers, with their gilded cupolas and multitudinous bells for which the city is famous. On great civic occasions, these are rung in unison and their peals echo for miles around. The city presents walls of solid timber to beings cowering in the dark forests and, from its great bronze gates, a lone and dangerous path winds its way towards Middenheim and The Empire.
  • Second only to Marienburg as a trading port for the northern Old World, Erengrad sits at the mouth of the river Lynsk, and is the Kislevite city most likely to be visited and populated by other Old Worlders. Its quays see ships and crews from as far afield as Magritta in Estalia and L'Anguille in Bretonnia, rubbing shoulders with the more familiar faces of Norscan traders, bringing cargoes of whale oil, narwhal ivory, tar and smoked fish across the Sea of Claws. The mouth of the Lynsk provides Erengrad with a warmer lagoon, protecting and sheltering the city from the icy waters of the Sea of Claws and the Winds of Chaos from the north. An island in the middle of the lagoon provides the principal docks; joined to Erengrad proper with a wooden bridge, sunk into the lagoon bed with massive piles. Erengrad's architecture is low, few buildings save temples rise more than two storeys. Its walls are mostly wooden, with a great bronze gate set facing the south-east, where the road to Middenheim begins.
