Real Bagaceratops were early ancestors of Triceratops and other ceratopsians. It lived in Late Cretaceous Mongolia, about 80 million years ago, and was much smaller than its later relatives, adults reaching about a metre long. It had no horns outside of a small bump on its snout and a powerful beak, which it used to cut through the needles and leaves of the plants that it ate. The name Bagaceratops means "small horned face".

- Bagaceratops, meaning "small-horned face" (Mongolian Baga = "small"; Greek ceratops = "horn face"), is a genus of ceratopsian dinosaur that lived in what is now Mongolia around 80 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous. Although emerging late in the reign of the dinosaurs, Bagaceratops had a fairly primitive anatomy and kept the small body size that characterized early ceratopsians.
