DIC Entertainment is a film and television production company that began in 1971. It is often associated with children's programming but their large body of works reveal more than that. Originally, the company is from Luxembourg but has since made the United States its main base of operations. When Sunbow Productions lost the animation rights to the G.I. Joe franchise, it was DIC that picked it up two years later with the Operation: Dragonfire miniseries, then a second cartoon series, commonly known as the "DiC" series.
