- You can not have a repeating firearm without a magazine system of some sort, but you can, in most cases, load the magazine without a clip. The word "clip" is commonly (though incorrectly) used as a synonym for magazine.
- The term clip may refer to:

- Clip, A.K.A. Experiment 177, is an illegal genetic experiment created by Jumba Jookiba. She is primarily designed to eat Uburnium, the most powerful and economical fuel source in the universe, and drive prices through the roof. Unfortunately, the word "Uburnium" was the same word used for "hair" in Jumba's native language. Thus, Clip instead eats hair and, if left unchecked, grows larger with all that she consumes. Her one true place is at the beauty salon as a hairdresser.

- Clip is the leader of the rednecks that beat up Xavier in the episode What Life D-D-Doth. Clip is also somewhat responsible for the computer virus in Burbury because he follows the advice Xavier gives him about throwing the infected computers in the lake. He later drinks from a bottle of aids that Xavier acquires from the U.S. Army and while his body turns to ash, his spirit ascends to heaven where he proceeds to make out with his grandmother.
- Each bullet does between 5 and 15 hit points of damage (determined using Doom's pseudorandom number generator). Note that, although shots fired by zombies and the Wolfenstein SS inflict only 3-15 points each, the bullets in their dropped ammo clips behave like any other bullets when used by the player. Although referred to as clips in the game, the items depicted are more properly known as magazines; that is, they contain bullets rather than merely hold them in place.
- The first clip type was released in 1995 along with the Sawtooth. The second clip type was released in 1997 along with the Electric Eel. It was not until 2007 and the release of the Longshot CS-6 that clips became popular and widely used.
