Sitlas was an unjoined Trill male in the 21st century. He was the director of planet Trill's space center, which included spaceflight control, an observatory, and the planetary defense grid. In 2075, when the L'Dira entered orbit of Trill, Sitlas sent the standard message to aliens which stated that they did not want contact with them and asked that they depart. When they instead stayed in orbit and began requesting trade, Sitlas began work on a better translation of their messages. He later allowed Lela Dax to send a message to Vulcan, then, over his objections, to communicate with them. After the L'Dira attack, Sitlas told Dax that she had received a reply from Vulcan.
