Balin was a guest star on many popular television shows including Bonanza, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Battlestar Galactica, Get Smart, It Takes a Thief, Ironside, Twelve O'Clock High , Quincy, M.E. and Magnum, P.I. Balin was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in the 1960 film From the Terrace which starred Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Balin toured Vietnam with the USO in 1970. As a Board Member of the An Lac orphanage in Saigon, she courageously took part in the full-scale evacuation of nearly 400 orphans in 1975 during the fall of the city to the Communists. Once while traveling in Madrid, she witnessed a car accident in which a car had overturned. With a sheer rush of adrenalin, the petite actress managed to turn the car right side up by herself, freeing the driver. Ina Balin appeared in one episode of SMDM as Dr. Cheryl Osborne.
