Sidney Lanfield was a film and television director. He directed 54 episodes of McHale's Navy, and was nominated for an Emmy for his work on that series. However, he was more than a TV director. He was known for directing a number of movies with Bob Hope (although not the Road movies), and directed the very successful first Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movie in 1939, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
