Astronomers now speculate that Yariz and Solus are "sibling stars", born from the same nebula at roughly the same time. Unlike the Solus star system, Yariz's few planets appear infertile or exhausted. Several exhibit traits of volcanism (such as Picon Yar) and tremendous seismic activity — Baikoun Yar, in fact, is so rife with earthquakes and tectonic activity, many are advised against visiting. The lone hospitable planet, Kasputin Yar, is an odd, eerie world and home to the sole sentient native species, the Yari.

Several exhibit traits of volcanism (such as Picon Yar) and tremendous seismic activity — Baikoun Yar, in fact, is so rife with earthquakes and tectonic activity, many are advised against visiting. The lone hospitable planet, Kasputin Yar, is an odd, eerie world and home to the sole sentient native species, the Yari. At some undocumented time in the past, speculators and miners from Hutt Space, the Tion Hegemony, and the Cronese Mandate all foraged in the system for an array of raw materials, but nothing became lucrative. To service these ventures, a few small outposts, called stations, were established and started to perform roles such as lite manufacturing, repair, and supply. While it's currently nowhere near the size or capacity to rival the great staryards of the galaxy, this is still a productive location, and prior to partnering with several Caspian companies, found itself doing alot of repair and upgrade work for Hutt interests and The Centrality. The system also finds itself trafficked by any and all peoples associated with the Hutts. These include Niktos, Weequay, Klaatoinians, Vodrans, Aqualish, and Duros, all on fencing or pirating runs through the system. Recently, CDU forces have been garrisoned more resolutely in-system to keep Yari, and Caspian, interests more secure. A flotilla of Caspian starships, among them the CMKS Lirithose, has taken up harbor here both to patrol and to protect the increasingly important construct yards of Vanover and Nenawirth.
