Superman and the Men of Steel is a retelling of Superman's origin story, establishing the character's history in Prime Earth continuity following timeline changes caused by Flashpoint. It is Grant Morrison's debut arc in his Action Comics volume published as part of The New 52, with illustration by Rags Morales, Gene Ha and Andy Kubert. This succeeds the previous established origin story presented in Geoff Johns' Superman: Secret Origin.

- Superman appears in Metropolis, and no one knows what to make of him. The police hope to arrest him, reporters want to learn about him, and corrupt politicians want to get rid of him. He is captured by General Sam Lane of the U.S. Military, who is working with Lex Luthor, and they torture him until he is able to escape. An alien entity appears, calling itself the Collector of Worlds, and it abducts the entire city of Metropolis. Superman is able to launch himself into space to battle it and save the city.
