  • Superman appears in Metropolis, and no one knows what to make of him. The police hope to arrest him, reporters want to learn about him, and corrupt politicians want to get rid of him. He is captured by General Sam Lane of the U.S. Military, who is working with Lex Luthor, and they torture him until he is able to escape. An alien entity appears, calling itself the Collector of Worlds, and it abducts the entire city of Metropolis. Superman is able to launch himself into space to battle it and save the city.
