- Carpenters (also known as The Tan Album) is the third and eponymous album by The Carpenters. Released in 1971, Carpenters contained three hit singles: "For All We Know", "Rainy Days and Mondays", and "Superstar". The album also solidified Karen Carpenter's reputation as one of the most accomplished female vocalists of the 20th century. Because the airing of Make Your Own Kind of Music coincided with the release and popularity of this album, the Carpenters performed many of their songs from Carpenters on the TV series.

- The Carpenters were an easy listening / country duo, made up of siblings Richard (1946- ) and Karen (1950-1983) Carpenter. They became phenomenally successful in the 70s with a string of LPs and chart hits which showcased their lush, close harmony compositions. Richard was a skilled arranger and pianist, and Karen began by playing the drums but then moved on to vocals, thereby creating her hallmark sound of low register ballads and slightly uptempo pop. Her death from complications caused by the disease anorexia nervosa ensured that Richard would spend his remaining career reworking and 'rediscovering' Carpenters unreleased material from a seemingly inexhaustible vault.

- Their main goal in the video game is to rebuild Kakariko Village, but the boss is disgruntled by his employees for being so very lazy, just wandering around. He's also disappointed with his son Grog who just sits around all day. If the player visits the village at night, then Grog will explain that his parents, you, and everyone else in the world are disgusting. The player can converse with the other carpenters just by finding them, though by the looks of it their leader is right - they don't seem to be doing much work but rather are just wandering around.
