Soulstones were stones with red glyphs inscribed on them. They could be picked up from monsters (i.e. Goblins) carrying them when an Obelisk has been summoned. Once picked up they can be place on a similar style pedestal, which eliminates the protective barrier around the mentioned obelisk, and enables it to be destroyed.

- Soulstones are bag-slot, conjured items, which a warlock can create beginning at level 18, that temporarily grants a buff on a target player conferring the power of self-resurrection. If used on a dead ally, that ally is instantly resurrected. Often, the term is used as a verb meaning to apply a soulstone to a target.
- Soulstones are powerful crystals taken from inside slain . They store power relative to the strength of their original host and are commonly used for spells and to power magical tools in the Continental Nations. They have different shapes and colors depending on strength and element (the darker the more powerful), but seem to have standard designs based on which beast they have been harvested from. Like the beasts they come from, soulstones are ranked on a letter scale with the highest known being SSS.

Along with Flaming Water, Soulstones are one of the major exported resources of the Red Desert, and the hunting of Demon Beasts for the stones has become an important part of the infrastructure - particularly in order to trade to the continents for iron. Like the beasts they come from, soulstones are ranked on a letter scale with the highest known being SSS.
