He is the eponymous protagonist of the movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Borat's humour derives from his mocking of society through outrageous sociocultural viewpoints, his violation of social taboos and his use of vulgar language and behaviour. Sacha Baron Cohen's character Borat, alongside his Ali G and Brüno characters, has been retired.
