A mortal woman, she became the lover and student of the immortal Walter Reinhardt, who trained her in the use of a sword. MacLeod had fought Reinhardt once, when he fell into a river without losing his head, but left his sword behind, a 17th century German sabre which Mac then included in his inventory at the antique shop. When Rebecca spotted it, she knew the blade for Reinhardt's and set out to challenge and kill MacLeod, as she assumed he had done with Reinhardt. She had thought that MacLeod murdered her lover, but later on discovered that Walter was alive and he never loved her, but used her.
