Larry Masaniello was a miner from Grantville. He was part of the posse led by Mike Stearns that killed six mercenaries that were torturing a man and a woman. Like most present, Masaniello had never seen combat, and was left in a state of shock after the six men were dispatched. He was reciting the Lord's Prayer when Tony Adducci spotted a horse-drawn carriage coming their way. Following Grantville's predicament in the 17th century, Masaniello became a sergeant in the NUS army and was later appointed mine manager when Quentin Underwood went to develop the oil fields in Wietze.
