He is first seen defeating the last boss of Terror Tower and then comparing swords, tossing away the weaker one and keeping his own. In the demon invasion arc, he resolves to defeat the Kast the demon king by cutting him repeatedly, ultimately decapitating him and tossing his head into the sea. He was defeated by Ban as Slayan and ends up wandering aimlessly until he encounters Jijon Jang. He wields the Ego Sword, which is possessed by the spirit Faelina who Basara cares for deeply but the sword loses its power when the ego is hurt (losing battles). He later regains his swords power by defeating Ban, but he had no keys so he took on Leviathan on his own, and
- Basara Akagiyama was first introduced in the Versus Revolution season of the Duel Masters Anime. He was part of the secret society of Duel Masters Land and Katta Kirifuda's new rival. After obtaining the unsealed version of Forbidden, his strength and ambitions become on par with Zakira due to the influence of Dokindam X, The Legendary Forbidden, making him a major enemy of Katta and Lucifer and also indirectly, Shobu Kirifuda, Katta's brother. Later in the series, he became the leader of a cult, the "Rare Killers" and seems to be a husk of his former self whose mind and body was taken over by his forbidden card.
