Aurvidlem, a winged gargoyle, is a provisioner in Vesper on the gargoyle side of the settlement. His demeanor is one of extreme disillusionment, and he seems to consistently be in a foul mood. In Ultima VII, he recognized the Avatar immediately when spoken to. He went on to express his despondency with the current state of Britannia, and made it clear that he felt the racial conflict in Vesper was intractable, stating that the humans would forever anticipate Gargish violence. He claimed to feel that the humans of Vesper probably deserved to be attacked, but that he hoped his people to be above such brutality.
