- The Hive was an underground laboratory located under Raccoon City. It was constructed by the Umbrella Corporation for bioweapons research, and its existence was kept secret from the majority of its employees. To lower the chance of information leaks, the facility was capable of housing more than 500 employees - scientists, technicians and support staff. The facility was damaged when the city was bombed in late 2002, but remained intact to act as a sort of Noah's Ark for thousands of Umbrella employees and the Umbrella High Command. Ten years into the Global T-Virus pandemic, the Hive was destroyed by Alice.

- The Nephalem may find a cluster of crystals that turns out to be a huge nest of Scouring Chargers. When disturbed, each of the three large crystals will spawn a large, but finite, number of the Chargers and Lobbers, including one-two large Praetorian ones. Originally, they could summon them infinitely, but this was nerfed in one of the patches to prevent exploiting. Upon destroying a crystal, a horde of Chargers will appear as well.
- The Hive is a location in the Special Zone, home to (presumably) all the universe's bee population. A roughly symmetrical structure floating in the "weird bit" of the Zone, The Hive is the only known place that can create gold, rather than simply mining it. The refuge is ruled by the Queen Bee, one of her sons being Charmy Bee.
