| - Cloudburst feels at home within the confines of his Pretender shell. His shell gives him the confidence to be smooth, charismatic and tough as nails (except in the presence of large organic females with broadswords). However, what his charming Pretender shell hides is nothing more than a nervous, dull and meek little robot who feels inferior to all those around him. His friend Landmine often tries to egg him on, provoking him to "come out of his shell", but Cloudburst still tends to hide behind his intelligence and within his shell.
- The Cloudburst is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. They are dangerous creatures elementally aligned with ice. The player should take them down as quickly as possible with attacks, preferably of the fire element, in order to prevent them from self-destructing. It is encountered in Cloudy weather (the same as when the player first enters the Steppe), often under a bridge to the western side of the far south.

- Aggressive, witty and charming, but only when hiding in his outer shell. Wary of everyone and everything, especially Decepticons, possibly because he knows that he’s constantly misleading people himself. Uses his outer shell to disguise his dull personality as well as himself. His long-time friends among the Autobots continually try to convince him that he doesn’t need his shell and fabricated personality to feel secure and better about himself, but he dismisses them and acts like he doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Reluctant to leave his outer shell so he can transform into an interplanetary star cruiser.
