Others are simply meant for speeding up travel between the Ninjago Courtyard and the separate Elemental Dojos. There are four kinds of Lanterns. Each must be unlocked before the player can use it. Lanterns are unlocked when the player learns the corresponding kind of Spinjitzu from the Ninja it is associated with. All types of Spinjitzu must be used to obtain the corresponding Golden Weapon. * Earth Lanterns allow the player to travel underground to another Earth Lantern. This is the first type of Lantern the player learns to use, and also the only type to be featured in all major zones of the Monastery. Unlike the other types of Spinjitzu, Earth does not need to be used to reach its corresponding Skeleton, Chopov. * Lightning Lanterns let the player fly through the air like a lightning bolt to reach new areas. The second type of Spinjitzu, it is much less common than Earth Spinjitzu, and is only used to reach Krazi and to travel in the Lightning Dojo. * Ice Lanterns let the player smash chunks of ice that block the way to certain areas, and then fly through. Players learn to use Ice Lanterns as the penultimate type of Spinjitzu in the series. Aside from in the Ice Dojo and reaching Bonezai, Ice Spinjitzu Lanterns are rarely found in the Monastery. * Fire Lanterns are the last type of Lantern the player learns to use. They let the player fly high into the air and come back down onto the platform the other Lantern is located on. Outside of the Fire Dojo, there are only three Fire Lanterns in all of LEGO Universe. One of them leads to the Battle Against Frakjaw! instance.
