| - From the Pawn is a Deathcore band from Long Island that formed in 2003. To date they have released one full-length album, Ambitions of Man, in 2007. From the Pawn is associated with the deathcore band, Emmure, and the vocalists of both bands have guest appeared on each other's albums. Taken from the From the Pawn Myspace: From the Pawn was born on one rainy summer day of 2003 when members from several different Long Island bands wanted to create a specific sound from a mixture of their favorite musical influences. The original lineup was Dom D'Acunto (vocals), Keiji Shibata (guitar), Joseph Fusco (guitar), Anthony DiCocco (bass), Joey Cestone (drums). Early influences included Poison the Well, Pink Floyd, Comeback Kid, Shai Hulud, One 4 One, Strife, and H20. Almost instantly From The Pawn gained a die hard fan base and has been growing ever since. In winter 2004 Dom departed from the band for personal reasons, Gary Michele vocalist of SPEECHLESS AT GUNPOINT was asked by FTP to fill in until a permanent replacement was found. Soon after Gary recorded with From The Pawn and helped create the From The Pawn 2005 ep and became their permanent vocalist. It has also occurred to FTP that in an age of transition in opinions, there may be somewhat both of interest and of benefit in noting the successive phases of any mind which was always pressing forward, equally ready to learn and to unlearn either from their own mistakes or from those of others. From The Pawn does not for a moment imagine that any part of what they have to relate can be ignored. Their songs are performed as narratives with melodies that flow from past events of pain, anger, belittlement, and neglect. However FTP has thought that in an age when moral depreciation, is of second nature, that there is a good heart that we all just have forgotten. FTP has chiseled their epithet into the hearts of all metal and old school hardcore pride, never forgetting where they came from, and the foundations that molded them into what they are today. From The Pawn's goal is to portray a positive outlook from the negative events that occur in everyday life. Creating music without limiting themselves to the boundaries of fitting into a specific category/genre.
