| - Guccia was born in Castellamare Del Golfo, Sicily. Guccia was a skilled mechanic and allegedly became associated with mob boss Joseph Barbara while working as a handyman on his estate, he had a lengthy criminal record and is known for being the only non-made member of the mafia present at the infamous Apalachin Conference of mob bosses from across the United States in 1957. His arrest record dated back to 1916 and included; possession of revolver, breaking and entering, bootlegging and murder. Guccia was a bootlegger during Prohibition and was closely associated with Endicott area mafiosi. According to an article published in the New York daily news in January 2013; shortly before the Apalachin Conference was raided and police were reportedly surrounding the area, the host, Joseph "Joe the Barber" Barbara, said "Don't worry, don't worry," passing through the gathering, trying to staunch the panic. "Those knuckleheads come around here all the time. They never do nothing". Then Bart Guccia rattled back down the road in his piece-of-shit fish truck, pulling up next to the garage, leaning out of the window to utter the horrible, magic word; "Roadblock!", at which point everyone at the meeting scattered and fled trying to avoid being captured by police. Guccia later became a made man and soldier in the Scranton Wilkes-Barre crime family sometime after the Apalachin incident.
