  • Squiddies are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. These purple, squid-like enemies are found in watery areas. They occasionally surface, allowing Link to shoot them with his cannon, making Rupees appear, after which they promptly begin to sink into the ocean again. The longer Link can keep one up in the air, the more Rupees he will receive. After Link blasts one eight times, it divides, giving him two to juggle. If he can continue to keep those two up in the air, one of them will divide again. Three is the maximum number of Squiddies Link can juggle at any given time. If one of the trio is allowed to return to the sea, one of the other two can be divided once again, making up for the one that disappeared.
