They are not initially unlocked, but become unlocked early in the storyline.

- Designed as a companion sidearm for the Templar, the Grappler does just what its name implies. Firing out a tether of braided Palladium, the device securely latches onto its target and draws it quickly into melee range. This is a particularly useful item against demons that attack from the skies as it can instantly negate their greatest tactical advantage.
- The Grappler is a Normal fist weapon for the Monk in Diablo III. It requires character level 50 to be used.
