Argumentum ad hominem is a logical fallacy in which someone attacks the agent presenting the argument rather than the argument itself. It is considered a fallacy of relevance and an informal fallacy. It is a subset of the genetic fallacy. Arguments that commit this fallacy often commit the assocation fallacy.
