The Cardan II-class space station was the second model of Cardan-class space station built for the Galactic Empire. These stations were nearly identical to the Cardan I-class but added a vertical section attached to the bottom of the space station which provided more space for weapon emplacements and capital ship construction bays.

| - The Cardan II space station was meant to be deployed as a shipyard/planetary defense platform. It was more heavily armed than the Cardan I-class space station and could carry more starfighters. These stations were armed with three turbolaser batteries, three point-defense ion cannon batteries, two proton torpedo tubes and two tractor beam projectors. They supplemented their defense with 24 starfighters and four shuttles. Cardan IIs were capable of building ships up to 600 meters in length; they included the vitally important Commando-class escort carrier and the regular 500m-long Escort Carrier. Since these two ship classes, among all others up to 600 meters, which happened to be almost all of them, Cardan IIs were the most important space station class known.
