Po ich odejściu do Lothlórien krajem rządziła grupa Elfów Gwaith-i-Mírdain pod wodzą Celebrimbora. W czasach tych rządów Eregion nawiązał bliskie kontakty z Annatarem, który zainicjował wykucie Pierścieni Władzy. Kiedy Elfy zorientowały się o planach Saurona, usiłowały ukryć przed nim Pierścienie, co jednak udało się tylko w przypadku elfickich klejnotów. Eregion został zniszczony przez Władcę Ciemności, zaś ocaleni zamieszkali w Lothlórien, Lindonie lub Rivendell.

- Egregion (イレギオン Iregion?, Eregion) es el jefe de la etapa de introducción en Mega Man X4. En la primera mitad (Sky Lagoon), el jugador debe dejarlo atrás evitando sus garras y disparos, mientras destruye los muros que le cortan el paso para huir. En la segunda parte (las ruinas de la ciudad), el jugador debe luchar contra él. Atacara con sus golpes con la garra y su láser. Después de la derrota de Eregion, el jugador se encontrará con el Coronel por primera vez y tras explicarle que se sospecha que la Repliforce estuvo detrás de la destrucción de Sky Lagoon, se marchara declarando la guerra a los Maverick Hunters.

- Eregion, also known as Hollin, was a realm of the Ñoldorin elves during the Second Age, located near the West Gate of Moria. It was a rare elven kingdom, for the relations with the dwarves were cordial and both sides traded freely. This place used to be called Eregion but was later changed to Hollin.

In the first half (Sky Lagoon), the player must outrun him to avoid its claws and shots, and must also destroy the locked doors to get away. Die Elben Eregions, waren die einzigen Elben, die sehr gute freundschaftliche Beziehungen zu den Zwergen hegten und regen Handel mit den Zwergen Khazad-dûms trieben. - The highland region of Eriador between the Rivers Glanduin and Bruinen was composed mostly of foothills on the western flank of the Misty Mountains. Eastern Eregion ran up to the mountains' edge, while the western reaches were rolling hills separated by streams and bogs. A long east-west mountain spine, the Hollin Ridge, ran through the center of the area. Eregion had been essentially depopulated since S.A. 1697 and was known for its numerous holly trees. It also contained the West-gate of Moria, which faced the River Sirannon, the chief tributary of the Glanduin.

Eregion is full of ancient structures such as Elven ruins and Ruined Elven Turrets. Holly trees are exclusive to this biome. Upon entering Eregion you gain the achievement "Faded Splendour".
