George William Holtzapffel (1857-17 December 1924) was a businessman and local politician. Born George William Budd, he was the nephew of John Jacob Holtzapffel (1836-1897), head of the Holtzapffels, manufacturers of ornamental turning equipment. The firm had been founded in London in 1792 by an émigré from Strasbourg. In 1896 he adopted the Holtzapffel name (also being known as George William Holtzapffel Budd) when he became head of the company. He was a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Turners of which he served as master.
