| - Lord Winder was a patrician of the city of Ankh-Morpork. He became very paranoid over the years, seeing plots and shadows everywhere and his condition continuously became worse. Eventually, the citizens became very fed up with Winder's strict totalitarianism. His laws included torture for being up after "curfew," and possessing weapons. The people started a rebellion, which was joined by the Night Watchmen of Treacle Mine Road, at that point being led by Sergeant-at-Arms John Keel. Winder was eventually assassinated by Havelock Vetinari in the middle of a crowded hall, who was destined to eventually become patrician, and replaced by Lord Snapcase, who was instantly corrupted by his new found power.
- A winder is the cord placed into the shooter, and must be pulled for a Beyblade to launch. There is many different colour and length variations that were produced over the years. __TOC__
- Winders are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Consisting of several Sparks strung together, they travel across walls. Impervious to any kind of weapon, these may only be avoided by Link.
- When the Eleventh Doctor and Amy came to Starship UK, the Winders reported his presence after he began investigating the engines. Later, when they learned the truth, the Winders brought them to Hawthorne to learn the whole story. (TV: The Beast Below)
