- Waterloo Road is a BBC Drama TV series, that has currently aired four seasons and 60 episodes. The show's fourth series aired from 7th January 2009 until the 20th May 2009, with an 8pm timeslot on Wednesday evening. BBC have commissioned a fifth series of twenty episodes, which began filming in May 2009. The fifth series will take Waterloo Road's total number of episodes to 80. The series is produced by Shed Media, and series one, two and three have all been released on DVD. The show acheives good ratings and is popular with the 15-34 age group.
- Much of the series takes place at Waterloo Road Comprehensive, a fictional co-educational community school which takes students aged 11 to 18. At the opening of the series the school was notorious for being "on the scrapheap" with poorly-behaved students and poor-quality teachers, although it later passed its inspection to remain open. In series 3 it suffered a major fire and in series 4 it was demolished by a digger driven by the character Ralph Mellor.
