In an event loosely based on the Valentines Day Massacre, Spats and his Mafia cohorts gun down a group of rival gangsters in a garage. The two protagonists, Joe and Jerry, accidentally witness the carnage and manage to escape being killed as witnesses by dressing in drag and joining a female jazz band. Later on, at a Florida hotel, Spats runs into the two musicians while visiting for an "Italian opera-lover's convention". Before he can catch them, a gunman pops out of a birthday cake and kills him, along with the rest of his gang.
