Once he was the head of government, Zhekov came into contact with agents of the One Sith Remnant, who promised him more power if he collaborated with them. He agreed, and passed them information on Triumvirate military capabilities. Zhekov ended his term as Prime Minister by planting a bomb in the transport that was carrying the three Triumvirs—Jedi Master K'Kruhk, Empress Marasiah Fel, and Admiral Gar Stazi. The trio were killed as Zhekov fled Coruscant. Under the One Sith, he was given the position of navy captain. Zhekov worked with another former Fel loyalist, Nikola Tsankov, to establish the Imperial government-in-exile (backed by the One Sith). During the Sith—Triumvirate War the Imperial government-in-exile claimed to be the successor of Darth Krayt's empire.
