  • Casino Night is a toon in which Edd and Matt go for a night out on the town. Edd decides to try his luck at roulette and wins, gaining loads of money and women, but later loses the money to Tom which causes the women to leave them. Later the two end up getting drunk and try to drive home, but Matt ends up crashing the car into a lamp post because he is drunk. There is no dialogue but there is some scat singing to a song by the button mashers. The short was probably inspired by Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, as it has the same music.

  • Investigating the Casino Night Zone with Porker Lewis, Sonic encounters a destitute dog who has lost everything gambling. The statue of Dr Robotnik looming over the Zone is constantly firing out beams, hypnotising visitors into becoming compulsive gamblers, but Sonic and Porker have made plans to put a stop to it. Inside the statue's head, the Marxio Brothers, owners of the Zone, are in contact with Robotnik. He knows Sonic is planning a raid, and threatens to send the brothers back to Super Marxio World should they fail to get rid of the hedgehog. Back outside, Porker's disruptor isn't affecting the Zone's central computer. Porker theorises that they aren't close enough, and Sonic, having had enough, grabs the disrupter and charges in. The Marxios are watching, and call in the Troopers. Sonic takes a few out, but soon plunges through a hole in the floor and thus into a giant pinball machine. He escapes, only to find that the Marxios have captured Porker. Moments later, Sonic and Porker have been tied to the Zone's rollercoaster track, and the cars are fast approaching. As their demise approaches, Sonic seems to have no plan, and Porker breaks down in tears. Naturally, Sonic was joking, again displaying his strange sense of humour, and he thus vibrates his hands at supersonic speeds, loosening the ropes. While Porker goes free, Sonic rides the coaster back to the ride station, and pursues the Marxio Bros into the heart of the Zone. The Marxios have the disruptor, and though Sonic tries to retrieve it, Grouchio smashes it, at which point Sonic sprints out. He reveals that he has merely been buying time for Porker to reprogram the Zone's computer so the machines finally start paying out. Just before the angry Marxios can attack, the statue's head explodes off of its body, taking the computer with it. With the Marxios distracted, Sonic and Porker retreat to freedom, the hedgehog vowing that putting a stop to Robotnik's Casino Night scheme is just the beginning....

Three booths are spaced down one wall, the dark wood of the seats padded with a deep green fabric. Overhanging each booth is a stained-glass patterned green and purple lamp, in the ship's usual colour motif. The long half circle bar is next to the kitchen entrance, eight stools placed around it, and a universe-class selection of alcohol displayed behind. A few tables are spaced between the bar and the dance floor, giving more places for daily diners to sit. The whole floor is a smooth wood, from the bar all the way to the long stage that takes up a good area of the wall opposite. A sleek black piano waits on one corner of the high platform stage, though a state of the art sound system keeps a quiet ambiance during dining hours, and the latest dance music during the evenings when the tables are cleared away. The kitchen is well hidden, except for the burst of noise now and again when someone passes through the doors. Clearly displayed is a sign that shows the hours each meal is served, and the daily specials being offered. The dining tables have been cleared out of the room, except for a few along the edges. Two poker tables and a blackjack table make up the cards for the evening, along with a roulette wheel and two dice tables, one for standard craps, another for a Timonae dice game. Waitresses are circulating the room, and next to the bar is the changer table, exchanging cred chips for the gambling chips emblazoned with the ship's gold domino mask. Andreo strides into the resturant while adjusting his tie. He looks around a little before heading for the bar. Arizhel walks in from the central hallway, her heels clicking mutely off of the floor. She looks around the room for familiar faces before making her way over toward the bar, waving hello to the bartender and giving a faint smile. Martine is making herself fairly scarce, in the kitchen for the moment, overseeing the waitresses taking out the snacks into the resturant. Larin enters into Harlqeuin looking rather uncomfortable in his new formal wear. He gives the area a quick once over, surveying the guests before noticing Rish at the bar. He straightens his bow tie and walks over with a confident grin on his face. The bartender, whose nametag identifies him as 'Jens', waves back at Rish before making his way over to where Andreo stands. "Can I get you anything, sir?" Andreo approaches the bar and sits down on one of the stools. He looks at Jens. "Glass of the house wine," he says. "Red wine." Arizhel smiles and nods at Jens walks off, then stops to adjust a strap on one of her shoes. She doesn't seem to notice Larin as of yet. Opportunities like these don't present themselves everyday. Larin innocently slows his pace before he gently places a hand on Rish's shoulder. "Careful there. Someone may just trip over you.", Larin comments with a laugh. Karlan strides into the bar, his cane clicking by his side, strangely louder than the steps themselves. He makes his way to Arizhel, raising an eyebrow at Larin as he approaches her. A glass of red wine is poured, and set in front of Andreo. "Anything else, sir?" Jens inquires. "Oh!" Rish exclaims as she jumps slightly, the Lunite having taken her by surprise. She grins at Larin and stands up straight, looking slightly down at him. Damnable heels. She smiles at him, then shifts her eyes across the room to the approaching Timonae. "That thing's like having a bell on a cat, Karlan - makes it so I know where you're at." "Grazie," Andreo says to Jens when he comes with the wine. He pulls outs some credits from somewhere under his suit and slides them over. "Nothing right now," he says, with a touch of an Italian accent, and a smile. Martine finally emerges from the kitchen, in uniform, being chased out by the Odarite chef. She looks slightly chagrined, then straightens her jacket, heading for the doors to speak to the hostess. "Stunning Rish.", Larin remarks towards her dress. "Absolutely stunning." He gives her a full-faced grin and tugs at the sides of his coat in a dignified manner. "I was hoping to look the part but I hope I didn't overdress." He casts a glance around the room before his grin is back on Rish. Karlan smiles at Arizhel, looking down and sighing. "You look amazing, as usual, Rish. I didn't have time to buy clothes, since I was going to do it yhesterday. Ah well. I still don't get this human 'dress party' thing." Arizhel blushes faintly under the dual compliments, nodding at Larin first. "You look nice, Larin. It's an interesting change. You don't look very comfortable, though... Try to loosen up a little, hm?" She shifts her eyes back up to Karlan then, chuckling. "It's okay, the cane makes you look dignified anyway." The man's credits are accepted, and Jens goes back to work serving the other patrons. By now there's not much activity at the tables, a few people playing poker. Most people are snacking, chatting, and getting drinks. Andreo lifts his wine glass and takes a sip. He then turns around in the stool, folds his legs and looks around the area. "Ah well with so much action and beauty all in one place. Puts a man on edge, you know?", Larin replies with a smirk. He works at the button of his jacket slightly but before he does so he plucks the rose from his lapel. "But before I forget. I picked one up for you at the park. I wasn't sure what you were going to be wearing but a rose is a rose." He offers it to Rish. Karlan leans into his cane, rolling his eyes and muttering at Larin, then moving to watch Arizhel. "Haven't brought you anything. I thought you might not be receptive to any... advances right now." Martine finishes her conversation and heads for the stage, passing by the akward trio. She doesn't give them a glance, seemingly intent on her work, or perhaps not wanting to draw attention to herself. Arizhel smiles and takes the rose from the Lunite, fiddling with the neckline of her clothing for a moment. "Ah, there we go," she says, holding up a pin between two fingers. "Always have one at these kind of things, just in case." She pins the bloom to the bodice of her dress, then reaches out to tousle Larin's rust-colored locks slightly. "Thanks, Larin. It's lovely." She shifts her eyes up to Karlan then, nodding. "I can understand that, hon. I didn't expect anyone to bring anything, all things taken into consideration." Larin looks to Karlan incredulously and shakes his head slightly. "It was just ocassion and custom ...", Larin explains before looking back to Rish. "You don't have to accept it. I just saw it and thought of you." His cheeks flush a bit and he smiles as she does end up accepting it. "Excuse me. I'll be right back after I find a place to hang this up." He walks off for a few moments. Karlan sighs and shakes his head, looking up at Arizhel with an apologetic smile. "I... didn't mean to scare him off. You know that." He shrugs, slumping slightly. Andreo's scanning of his surroundings is slow and detailed, almost as if he was looking for something in particular, but not necessarily in a hurry to find it. Martine finishes checking everything, it seems she's really not needed. Lacking anything else to occupy her, Lydia heads to the bar for a drink. She nods her head at the bartender, who doesn't ask, just makes her drink. Arizhel nods at Karlan, reaching up to pat his arm affectionately. "I know, hon. I know you wouldn't do that. Don't worry so much, okay?" She blinks then, her eyes going to Lydia momentarily before they shift back up to the Timonae. "I should probably go sit down at the piano before I get too comfortable socializing," she says, chuckling. Far from scared away Larin returns with his wry grin plastered across his face. He places his one hand in the other and looks about excitedly. "Oh? What are you planning on playing tonight?", Larin asks with interest. "Back at the station we used to have one of the real old honky tonk pianos. Used to raise all sorts of hell." He seems pretty happy with those memories. Karlan peers about himself for a moment, then shrugs and leans down, faintly hugging Arizhel for a moment. "I'm eager to hear it, Rish." Andreo turns back around to face the bar when he's done with his scan. He takes a sip and looks down the bar to Martine. "Capitano," he says with his accent, lifting his glass up a little. Martine glances over, as she hears a voice. She accepts her glass of brandy from the bartender, then inclines her head politely to the stranger. "Evening." She replies. "Your head alright?" Andreo casually asks, gently motioning to the bandage. "You play?" Arizhel inquires of Larin, turning an appreciative gaze on the Lunite. "I didn't know that. I was thinking about classical, but that's a bit stuffy, you know? Maybe some jazzy stuff, some of my own compositions if you're lucky." She smiles and accepts the hug from Karlan, returning it before walking over toward the piano. Karlan sits at the bar, looking towards Arizhel while he orders some whiskey and sips it absently, one arm resting on the bar and tapping nervously on it. "Yes. Just a small knock, nothing much." Lydia says with a smile, and another incline of her head. "I'm afraid you have the advantage over me, however, sir...?" Larin smirks lightly at the exchange between Karlan and Rish before slowly following her over to the piano. "Oh well I used to play. Must have been years ago. Can't even remember if I'd recognize any of the notes on a sheet of music.", Larin remarks. "I don't think I'd have enough intestinal fortitude to touch a piano with anyone watching me." "Lourdes," Andreo says with a smile, offering a hand, "Mateo Lourdes." Arizhel looks up at Larin as she sits down at the piano, quirking a brow. "You can face down a crazed gunman on a boat, but you can't play the piano in front of people? That seems a little odd to me, dear." She chuckles, and rifles through some papers, shaking her head at several of the selections. "What was I thinking?" she murmurs to herself, her lips pursing as she picks through the sheet music. Martine shakes it briefly, with a nod. "Charmed to make your acquaintance." She assures, then releases the hand to sip her brandy. She glances over her shoulder at the room, then up at the stage. Karlan raises an eyebrow at the conversation between Arizhel and Larin, rolling his eyes and sipping his drink again, engaging in a mild, somewhat hushed conversation with the bartender for a while. "Well with the former I might die. With the latter I might just /want/ to die.", Larin quips lightly, his eyes flickering over the sheet music with a fair amount of interest. He glances to the keys and looks up with a smirk. "It'd at least take a bit of courage. The real stuff or liquid." "Piacere di conoscerla," Andreo says to Martine with a smile. He takes the pause to take a sip of his wine. "Nice place you have here," he then says. "Funny, Larin. Real funny," Rish replies, a wry smirk on her face as she finally makes a choice on the music selection. "Anyway, I'll start off easy..." She puts her fingers to the keys and begins play, a soft, jazzy melody that starts off discordant, but resolves itself before more than a few bars have passed. "Thank you very much. I like to think so." Lydia says pleasantly, finishing off her small drink and handing the glass to the bar assistant. She tilts her head curiously. "Are you local, Mr. Lourdes?" Andreo shakes his head a little before taking a quick sip of his drink. "I travel around," he says, "I'm based on La Terre these days, but I've been watching the stuff here with the Sivadians." He pauses a moment before adding, perhaps as a better answer to her question, "But I'm from Earth originally." Larin crosses his arms over his chest watching Rish's hands play lightly over the piano. He keeps quiet and just watches as the notes begin to flow off the piano. His smile grows with each passing second. Karlan sighs and sits facing the piano, tilting his head to the side and watching Arizhel play, shaking his head faintly. Martine nods her head in understanding, then stands up. "Excuse me. I have to get back to the kitchens and check on something." She says politely. "Please enjoy yourself." Arizhel closes her eyes and continues to play, not paying attention to who might be looking at her, or standing nearby. Her fingers move over the keys seemingly of their own accord. The melody keeps moving back to that distinctively discordant sound, but always resolves itself shortly thereafter. A slightly-bedraggled Demarian, orange and white in color, pads in from the hallway. "Ey, Frrey, see? I told you they've got a nice place herre," she says, her tail flicking absently as she walks along. Freyssinet arrives from the lift, with Swiftfoot. She looks around, as for someone. She grins to Swift, "nice, indeed... You been there often?" Larin takes an opportunity to glance out across the floor as Rish goes along playing uninteruppted. His eyes stop on the Demarian and the doctor who is travelling with her. He waves from the stage where is standing nearby the piano to Frey and her companion. The soft, jazzy tune continues for a while longer before Rish reaches up with one hand to set the music aside, then moves right along into something a little more complex, still jazzy, but rife with lilting melodies and counterpoint. "Naw," Swiftfoot replies, chuckling as she looks over at Frey. "Came to the last one, a costume ball. That one was a lot of fun, though. I drressed myself up as a pirrate. Oh, went to a beach parrty on Deepcrrest, as well. They always thrrow a good parrty, though." The felinoid blinks at Frey. "Who ya lookin forr, anyhow?" Freyssinet chuckles to Swift, "A costume ball? Pity I missed that - wonder if I could get Remy to get in costume, now, /that/ would be fun!" she frowns at the question. "Someone..." she answers evasively. As her eyes find Larin, though, she grins. "Oh, but I see another acquaintance. Coming, Swift?" she waves back to Larin, and makes her way to his place. Andreo nods to Martine and takes a sip of his wine. He starts to look around the area again. Larin grins lightly as he spots Frey making his way towards him. Very lightly as not to disturb her playing Larin gives Rish a light touch on the shoulder before stepping off the incline of the stage. He waits for the doctor and her companion with a smile. Korthall slinks into the establishment, his yellow slitted eyes jumping from face to face as the Nall takes note of who and what is inside the resteraunt. Martine ducks into the kitchen, out of sight, avoiding the chef with the ease of practice as she escapes through the other entrance and down the hall. Maybe something can be done about her forehead. The bartender is still rather busy, and more people are heading to the gambling tables now, though the wait staff is still serving snacks for the moment. The low buzz of conversation fills the room, the music a quiet counterpoint to the overall noise. The surety of the piano's tune picks up as the ebon-haired woman playing it warms up to the task at hand. She's obviously enjoying herself now, her eyes mostly closed as her fingers continue to move across the keys. Karlan drinks the rest of his glass and steps away from the bar, moving towards the gambling tables to watch the games with mild curiosity. "Surre, why not?" the Demarian says, following after the doctor. "He a frriend of yourrs? Think I met him earrlierr on the landing pad, but he wasn't drressed quite so well." The comment is made loudly enough for the Lunite to hear, and the felinoid punctuates it by offering a cheeky wink at Larin. She sketches a courtly bow then, complete with a flourish of her tail. "Grreetings again, Mrr. Weyrr." Freyssinet grins, "inded, you look spiffy, today, Larin... how're you?! fancy seeing you here..." she nods to Swifty, "Doesn't he look great, like that?" The Lunite's lighter complexion turns a bit redder than usual and he tugs at the colar of his shirt for a moment. "Did it just get a bit hotter in here?", Larin asks looking a bit worried before it turns into a good natured grin. "Hello Doctor. It has been a long time indeed. Ever since that nasty Sivad business." The same grin is directed to the Demarian. "Hello. Pleasure's all mine once again." "Forr a human, perrhaps," the felinoid retorts, grinning wryly. "I prreferr my men with a bit morre furr, meh? I only wish that my counterrparrt was prresent, so that I'd get to see him wearring his 'good clothes' too. He's so dashing, when he trries to be." Swiftfoot chuckles then, flicking her ears. Korthall ambles up to the bar and regards the bartender for a moment before opening his jaw. "Who issss in charge here?" "Captain Martine." The bartender replies easily to the Nall, glancing around the room. "Shall I have her buzzed for you, sir?" He doesn't seem overly concerned. Freyssinet giggles, "Do not get ideas, Larin, I am an engaged woman. Glad to see you out of Sivad, indeed." lower, "How is... he?" to Swift, she grins, "Who is your counterpart? Do I know him?" The woman playing the piano takes no notice of the Nall, the Demarian, or the conversation taking place nearby. Nope, her attention's focused entirely on the music. She flicks another page aside with one hand, setting it down beside her on the bench, and starts on a new tune, this one a little more upbeat. Karlan drifts towards the Timonae game tables, watching the game atentively while leaning onto the cane, occasionally smirking over the shoulders of some unlucky gambler, often a human. "Ssstandard ssssecurity ssssweep," says Kor to the bartender. "I'll ssspeak with her if needed." The Nall turns away from the bartender. Larin's eyes go wide with surprise. "Engaged?", Larin asks with a big smile. His arms open up a bit as he steps towards Frey with a grin. "Congratulations, Doctor. Remy popped the question then?". In regards to 'he' Larin responds, "Better than ever. Really great actually. I wouldn't be surprised to see him here tonight. Fashionably late as usual." "That would be one Rrazorrback Cliffwalkerr," Swiftfoot replies, a wistful smile sneaking its way across her face. "He's about, meh, six inches tallerr than me, black as coal. Possibly the most noble man I have everr met, and I am lucky enough that he loves me. I do not know what I've done to obtain such an honorr, but I won't arrgue." The felinoid's whiskers bristle as she chuckles. Freyssinet is close tho the piano, speaking with Larin. She grins widely and hugs him. "Thanks. Yes, he did... and he already adopted Gracie officially." she nods to Swift, "DO not think I met him before. And yeah, I wonder sometimes how I came to be with Remy - but no arguing with fate and love!" The bartender nods to the Nall's explaination, slipping over to the other side to refill a drink. The ship's security placed discreetly around the room seem to be observing, but not doing anything other than chat quietly on their comms. "Fate and love.", Larin remarks with a light smile and a 'heh'. His eyes venture back up to the woman manning the piano before they return to those he is engaged with conversation with. "That's great though. Glad to hear something is finally going good for someone." Andreo finishes the last bit of his wine, and turns back to the bar. He sets the glass down and waves to the bartender. Freyssinet adds a nod for the rest of Larin's words. "But not a word to him... I want to surprise him!" Karlan looks over his shoulder towards Arizhel, and makes his way across the bar towards the stage, watching her play intently. "Refill, or would you like to try something different?" The bartender asks the self-proclaimed Mr. Lourdes. "We have some really great Vollistan reds." Korthall slinks along the bar, glancing at patrons and staff alike. From time to time his tongue flicks out into the air and his scaled nostrils flair, taking in the scents of the room. Jeff Ryan walks into the Harlequin with that usual brusque stride. Spotting Larin and Frey he walks in their direction, though keeping an eye out for the woman he's /actually/ looking for. The emerald-clad woman at the piano continues to play, oblivious to whomever might be watching or not watching. The snazzy tune picks up in pace as she plays, heavy with chords and arpeggios. Malion strolls into the Halrlequin Restaurant, as usual, he looks out of place. He tucks his hands into his pockets, and loiters around the door way for a bit, before making his way towards the bar as usual. "I'll drrink to Love," Swiftfoot agrees, nodding and quirking an eyeridge. "But not to Fate. That lady is farr too fickle forr me, and doesn't deserrve it." The felinoid chuckles, her ears flicking. "What was this?" Andreo asks, motioning to his now-empty glass. Martine finally returns to the resturant, out of uniform, a hurried, but not terribly good attempt to hide her bruise in evidence. She stops to speak with a security guard, then glances in the direction of Korthall, though she makes no move in that direction. Instead she makes her usual rounds, checking the room, never staying in one place for very long. As he is looking for anything that is out of place, Malion catches Korthall's eye for a moment. He pauses his walk and follows Malion with a turn of his head. Freyssinet grins, "Love can be fickle too... a passing illusion, a mere shadow." she remarks. As Larin watches the piano player, she grins. "She is skilled." she has not yet noticed Jeff's entrance. "Some of the time. Hopefully not most.", Larin remarks to Frey and her companion, glancing back towards Rish. He then holds up a finger. "If you ladies will excuse me a moment." He notes Jeff approaching them and remarks further to them. "Ah but here /he/ comes." With that he walks over to the bar, nodding towards Jens. "Hey Jens. Get me something bubbly and fruity. Yeah one of those fru fru drinks. Two of them please." He wraps his fingers along the bar as he waits for the bartender to go to work. Malion finally arrives at the bar, unaware that he's been followed by a Nall. He leans against it and patiently waits for the bartender, digging around in his pocket before withdrawing a handful of small denomination credits. He sighs, as he looks to the mostly unfamilar faces in the room. Jeff Ryan makes eye contact with Larin when the man spots him. He smiles a small smile and makes his way over to the bar beside the man, "Glad to see you're still in one piece." That voice is cold, emotionless and doesn't belong on any man. "I suppose you've got a point," the Demarian says, her expression pensive. "Meh, two fickle ladies that goverrn ourr lives." She watches the Lunite walk over to the bar, spotting Malion while her gaze is turned that way. "Ey, Mal," Swiftfoot calls out, waving a paw. "Likewise, boss.", Larin comments while waiting for the drinks. "I guess you heard about what happened on La Terre or were you just kidding?". His voice loses a bit of warmth and reverts back to one he usually reserves for profesionalism. A refill has been poured for Mr. Lourdes, the same as before. Nope, he didn't get forgotten. No way. "Apparently I'm not bubbly and fruity enough for you." The bartender remarks sourly to Larin, with mock-hurt. "I think we should see other people." He still makes the drinks, looking innocent, then leaves them. They're certainly bubbly, and very, very pink. He turns to serve Malion. "What'll it be?" He inquires. Andreo nods a little bit to Jens. He takes a sip of the new liquid and starts looking around again. Korthall seems to lose interest in Malion, not regarding him as a security threat. The jazzy tune coming from the piano keeps rolling along, still punctuated with heavy chords. A lilting melody starts on a high note, and is answered in counterpoint with a low one. The ebon-haired woman sitting at the keys still seems to be lost in the music, making no indication of noticing anything that's going on around her. Jeff Ryan sighs and nods looking around the room to see if he can spot Lydia, "I heard. Xenophobes she said, some engineer was shot and you and her friend got off unharmed." He glances towards the drinks, "One of those for me?" Freyssinet grins as Larin goes to speak with Jeff, and winks to Swifty, "And here is the person I wanted to see!" she follows larin, and tries to catch the bartender's attention too. She barges in the conversation, "What happened on La terre?" Karlan sighs and moves around to the bar, sitting down without takins his eyes away from the piano. Martine pauses to chat with one of the blackjack dealers. None of them are ship employees, but rather hired for the event. Caught in the important task of playing hostess, she hasn't noticed that Jeff is present as of yet. "Sivadian Double Helix mate," Malion replies, as he looks to the barman. For a moment, it appears that Malion missed Swifty's wave and call, until he returns the wave to the Demarian. "Oi ya Swifty... Give me a couple would ya?" The man puts a handful of credits down on the counter. "Should know that by now." Jens says dryly. The bar assistant takes care of the sale while Jens pours the touchy drink with an expert hand. "Surre, chief," the orange-furred felinoid replies, nodding at Malion. "Brring me a drrink, would ya? I'll get ya back laterr." "Long story. Ask Jeff about it.", Larin replies to Frey, plucking the two drinks by the stems and tossing a wink towards Jens. "But I always come back for the personality." He smirks lightly to Jeff. "I'll be back in a bit, boss. Delivery to make. After your done with the Doctor you may just want to check by the blackjack tables. I think I saw here near there a little while ago." With that he is off into the crowd, this time heading towards the stage with two fru-fru drinks held low in hand. Andreo's latest scan of his surroundings seems to hit something this time. Someone watching would see his eyes go by Jeff before quickly returning, although he tries not to be obvious about it. Jeff Ryan frowns as Larin walks off with the drinks, before turning his gaze to Frey with a genuine smile, "Good to see you in a more... social enviroment Grandma," he teases. "How's things with the family?" His family, only damned family he has. Malion scratches the back of his head and nods to Swifty, even though the gesture might be missed. He looks to the cashier and says, "What's the chance of getting a Ungstiri sun rise also?" He reaches back in his pocket and rummages through some change, and then places it down on the counter top. Freyssinet grins, "Very well, very well, son... Just got enlarged." she positively beams. "Remy proposed me." Jeff Ryan's eyebrows raise. A lot. "I always wanted a grandpa." He glances towards Jens, trying to get his attention, he chuckles at Frey, "I need a drink." "Rather good." Jens assures, making that up after he finishes the tricky helix. Easy enough to do. He leaves both drinks in front of the Martian, then goes to serve Ryan. "What'll it be, boss?" He asks the Lunite. "A single of brandy and what for you?" Freyssinet giggles, "Aw, come on... You do not seem to agree on the alliance." she waves to Jens too, "A luna libre, please." The felinoid's ears flick toward the Martian, and she chuckles, shaking her head. She surveys the room, eyes narrowing briefly as they rest on the Nall, but she flicks her gaze away quickly enough. Aside from that, she appears to be waiting patiently for Malion. "A single of brandy sounds fine Jens," he nods to the man. "Just don't let me drink as much as last time." He turns his attention back to Frey and shakes his head with a smile, "I'm just pre-occupied. Congratulations are in order eh?" The upbeat piano music comes to an end, the final chord held out for a few moments while the woman at the instrument reaches up to move another page aside. Her eyes, for whatever reason, flick up just in time to catch Larin nearing the stage. Rish smiles faintly, and lets the chord die out on its own, setting the music aside. Freyssinet grins. "Thanks. He already adopted officially Gracie - can't tell you how proud she is." she nods slowly. "Been busy, I heard... We can speak privately afterwards, see what I can do?" Andreo discreetly watches Jeff for a few moments, almost looking as if he's not sure what he was looking at. A sip of his drink draws his eyes away before it becomes obvious that he was looking. Malion retrieves his two drinks from the bar and works his way through the crowd towards the Demarian. "All the bloody days to leave me smokes on board," he mutters to himself. He arrives before Swifty and offers the Ungstiri Sunrise. "Tell us how that tastes... Ya can grab me on next if they're alright." Karlan stands up, walking slowly towards the stage to smile brightly at Arizhel, leaning into the cane and sighing. Three drinks are left on the bar. The luna libre, and two brandies. A security guard pauses to speak with the Nall, inclining her head. "Everything all right, sir?" She inquires politely. The drink in Larin's right hand comes up to greet Rish with a light smile, stepping past Karlan just a bit. "That'd be a tough act to follow Rish.", Larin replies delivering a wink. "I hope you don't mind the fru fru drink. Thought it might be a little more appropriate than the usual stuff ... especially if you intend to play some more." He chuckles just a bit at that and samples a bit of his own drink with a shrug. "It isn't bad." "Sounds good," the felinoid replies, eyeing the black-colored liquid a mite dubiously as she takes it from Malion. "Hey, I don't think I've everr seen one of these." Instead of drinking it right away, Swiftfoot watches the darker-colored liquors sink toward the bottom of the glass. "Damn, that's prretty cool. I almost don't want to drrink it." Karlan raises an eyebrow at Larin, stepping forward towards Arizhel and smiling faintly. "Good show, Rish. I suppose you'll be playing some more for us?" Jeff Ryan nods his head at Frey, "You staying on Greenville long, might be better if we talk tomorrow." "Thanks! Of course I will," the ebon-haired woman replies, offering a smile at Karlan. Rish shifts her eyes to the Lunite then, her head tilting to the side slightly. "Aw, that was sweet, Larin. You didn't have to, you know." She chuckles, her lips twisting into a wry smirk. "And probably a good idea to skip the hard stuff, after the condition you saw me in this morning, hm?" Freyssinet nods to Jeff, "Remy will come grab me tomorrow or Sunday." she confirms. "Where you sleep?" "Ya know what we need Swifty?" Malion asks, and then he takes double helix shot. "A bartender on board the Jackal... Hell, hopefully they'll teach Tia how to mix something when she's in that psycho place." He places the glass on a table nearby. "Screw it, I'm here to get drunk." With his glass still mostly full, Andreo waves to Jens to try to get the bartender's attention. The lunite rebel visibly pales at that question and his eyes narrow in amused suspicion. He picks up the glass of brandy, "Who you been talking to?" Swiftfoot chuckles, nodding and sipping at the drink as she loses interest in watching it change colors. "That'd be nice. I dunno, though, I still like mine strraight frrom the bottle, to be quite honest with you. Especially that crrazy blue stuff I've got so much of. That stuff'll mess you up like nothin else." The Demarian's tail flicks irritably. "Just wish I knew what it was." Freyssinet takes her drink, and sips it. At Jeff's reaction, she raises an amused brow in symetry of her offspring. "No one, was just an innocent question - though your reaction is... interesting." Jens notes the wave, and after he finishes his current drink in the making, wanders over to Mr. Lourdes. "What can I do for you?" He asks. The captain finishes her little chat with the blackjack players, and makes her way over in the direction of the bar. Nearly there, she's stopped by an older woman, companionably chatting to her about the 'nice party'. "Have any survivor's from Earth?" Andreo asks, lifting his glass up a little as if to indicate he's talking about wines. "Of course I didn't have to.", Larin remarks, taking another sip of his own drink and shifting his gaze slightly to Karlan. Soon enough he is smiling back at Rish. "That's what makes it all the more necessary." Another sip. "So what's next on the agenda? A duet perhaps?". A light snickera t that. "That's a good question. We might have a bottle of bordeaux hiding somewhere, and a nice Pinot Noir as well. Not too many, and certainly pricy, even by glass." Jens replies, then adds, thoughtfully. "I might have a merlot as well, though I think it might have been bought." Ryan smiles and shakes his head, "I'm a gentleman grandma, you should know that by now." He takes a sip of his brandy, "It's complicated, by... several things. I promised I wouldn't discuss it with many people for now. I can fill you in over lunch tomorrow." He smiles, "Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'd better take Mr Larin's advice and head over to the blackjack tables." He glances in that direction, but his view is blocked by several people. Andreo nods a little and smiles, "Yeah, I finished my last bottle up awhile ago. Was kind of sad." He then discreetly nods his head in Jeff's direction. "Who's that guy? With the blond hair." "I reckon it's flammable," Malion replies, giving a nod to Swifty. Andreo's comment catches his attention, and he looks towards him for a moment before looking back to the Demarian. "Be nice if we knew who that glowy was who mind raped Tia." He just leaves it at that. Freyssinet nods to Jeff with a chuckle. "Don't kiss and tell, indeed - that would not do in my family." she nods, "Good luck." she walks back to Swift, and Mal. "Looks like a stange drink." she remarks of the Unsgtiri sunset. "That? I'm not sure, I might have caught a name." Jens says, glancing over in the indicated direction. "Mr. Nemo, maybe? That might be it. Of course, it might be someone who looks similar. I see a lot of people." The bartender smiles a bit apologetically. The felinoid's expression darkens at Malion's comment, and she glowers at the floor. "Hrh. That's not a subject wherre my thoughts arre fit forr polite company," is all that Swiftfoot will say on the matter. The Demarian's eyes narrow briefly before she shakes her head, seemingly trying to clear the thought from her mind. She shrugs then, tossing back a hefty portion of her drink before remarking to Frey, "Yeh, prretty good, though. Packs a punch, at least." Arizhel takes the drink from Larin, chuckling as she sips at it. "If you like. I think I've got one here, actually, but it'd take some practice before you could actually play it, hon." She gives a sweet smile and brushes a stray tendril of hair out of her face. "I'd be happy to teach you, though. It's something I wrote myself." Martine finishes up her chat and turns back to head to the bar, almost running into Jeff in the process. "Oh!" She exclaims in surprise, blinking rapidly for a moment. "I thought you weren't coming!" Shock is quickly replaced by pleasure, however, and she smiles a genuine, open smile. "It's good to see you." She says warmly, then offers a hand. Andreo lifts his eyebrows up a little. "You seemed to know him," he asks with a small shrug. Larin looks around the room that has suddenly got a bit smaller and crowded. He pulls at his collar a bit, loosening his bow tie before taking good swig of his drink. "You think?", Larin asks, obviously not expecting to be taken seriously. "I don't know if all these people would rather just hear some beautiful music from you instead..." "I know a lot of people." Jens agrees, snagging a bar towel and wiping down the counter. "And I can't remember everyone. I do, however, remember faces, if not names. Pretending you remember someone often helps." The smile is reciprocal and Jeff takes the hand, giving it a firm shake, "Always a pleasure Captain." He glances in the direction of Larin, "He seems considerably happier than the last time I saw him." The smile falters a little at the sight of the bruise, "You okay?" "Oh no, no, Larin," Arizhel replies, laughing lightly as she reaches across to pat affectionately at the Lunite's arm. "I didn't mean right now. You'd need to practice. Now isn't the time for practice, hm?" She grins and sips at the fizzy pink drink. "I wouldn't put you on the spot like that, anyway. Besides, you're not getting paid to play, hm?" "Shit, sorry Swifty," Malion says before catching movement out the corner of his eye. He turns his head to look towards to Frey and offers a friendly smile as she approaches. "How ya going?" he asks, trying his hardest to seem sophisticated and failing in the attempt. "Name's Malion Vincess." The Martian extends his hand to the woman. "Feel free to call be Mal if ya want." Karlan offers Arizhel a faint grin as he walks back towards the bar, ordering another scotch and sipping it thoughtfully. "Surviving." Lydia says dryly, taking the brandy left for her on the bar and sipping it. "I have a bit of a headache, though I suppose if I took the painkillers I wouldn't have that. I hate taking drugs, though, and I barrel through." She glances over in the direction of the stage, eyes following the engineer's departure. "I'm doing better than Mr. Karlan." She sighs and shakes her head. "I feel so awful for what happened. Thankfully that was the extent of the damage." Andreo chuckles a little bit and nods, "Yeah, know how that works." He takes a sip of his drink. And even though there's still stuff in the glass, he asks, "How about a glass of that bordeaux?" Freyssinet grins to Swift, "Good luck drinking it, then," she smiles to Mal, and shakes his hand. "I think I saw you before - on the Unsgtir landing pad. Dr Elianor Freyssinet." Selecting a clean glass, Jens searches out and neatly uncorks the old bottle of Earth bordeaux, pouring a small taster for the man and setting in front of him to approve or disapprove. "Naw, not yourr fault I'm so bent out of shape overr it, chief," the orange-furred felinoid replies, shaking her head. "Whoeverr did that to yourr sisterr, it's theirr fault. But we'll fix it, then I can stop being pissy, meh?" She chuckles, and her gaze flicks between Frey and Malion. "Ah, I apologize forr being rrude. I didn't even make intrroductions. I'm losing my touch as farr as social etiquette goes, I think." A coy wink at that and another sip of his drink. "Of course.", Larin remarks with a smile. "I wasn't sure exactly what you meant." He laughs for a moment and shakes his head slightly. He watches Karlan head back to the bar with a light frown but looks back towards Rish. "You're looking remarkable tonight." Jeff Ryan nods sympathetically and sighs, "Mr Karlan? That'd be your engineer?" He glances in Larin's direction, "You want to keep him around?" Arizhel watches with a faintly furrowed brow as Karlan walks off, sighing and shaking her head after a moment. "I don't -get- him sometimes..." Her lips purse, and she shifts her eyes back to Larin, blushing slightly. "You're looking rather dashing yourself tonight, Mr. Weyr," she teases, a mischeivous grin sneaking across her face. Karlan starts to sip from a tall glass of something blue-cyan and faintly transluscent, looking back over his shoulder at Larin for a moment before focusing again on his drink. "I don't think it's necessary." Lydia replies, then shrugs. "Two of my security stayed on La Terre, they're members of the LTDF, so I couldn't deny them the chance to help stop whoever did this. "It wasn't targetted at the ship." She pauses thoughtfully. "If you have a moment, will you step outside with me for a second? There's something I'd like to show you." Jeff Ryan gives a small formal bow, "Of course." "Well I did have a certain lady in mind when picking out the outfit.", Larin responds giving her a slight twirl to show off the outfit with a grand old smirk. "Alas. It's a rental." His drink is empty but he doesn't seem to mind. Martine heads out into the hallway, ahead of Ryan. She leaves her drink on the bar for the moment, nodding her head to the hostess as she passes her. Malion gives a nod to Frey. "Pleasure to met ya Doc," he says, before chuckling. "Ungstir... I wasn't being chased of planet by a group of angry miners was I? I kind of have a problem with starting rock wide incidents there these days." The Martian then looks up to Swifty, and nods. "I'm trying me hardest to think about what happened... She's off at a Pyscho rehab place thingy." Jeff Ryan has his drink in hand as he follows the captain out of the room. Freyssinet looks between the two, and raises a brow at the speak of rehab. She just listens. Andreo quickly tests the sample and gives Jens an affirmative nod. He then pulls out some credits and has them ready for when the full glass arrives; it may or may not also contain a hefty tip. The ebon-haired piano player blushes faintly, covering a faint giggle with one hand. "Aw, you're embarassing me, Larin," Rish says, leaning back on the bench a bit and crossing her legs. The pink fizzy drink, still in the other hand, is almost empty. "You do look really nice, though." Swiftfoot snorts and shakes her head. "S'just not rright, what happened to herr. We'll get to the bottom of it though, chief. I prromise." The felinoid's tail flicks irritably, and she knocks back the rest of her drink. "Damn, that's some good stuff. A few morre of those would see me staggerring arround like a kit just learrning to walk." Jens pours the glass of wine, leaving it in front of the man. The assistant takes care of the charge, all of it done so quickly that the bartender is already pouring a new drink by the time the first one is paid for. Korthall seems to be finished his security sweep of the resteraunt, content that there is no threat to the immediete security of the spaceport or the planet. He heads for the exit. Martine steps out into the hallway and glances around, fairly empty. Just the same, she reaches out and draws Jeff to the side before she smiles up at him. "Can I get a proper greeting?" She inquires. Karlan sighs and drinks halfway through the glass, grimacing slightly as he stands up and makes his way towards Arizhel and Larin, standing behind him with his cane clasped in his hands in front of him. "So, Rish, how long are you expected to play for?" He says in a mildly pleasant tone, smiling at her from behind Larin. Larin laughs a bit, taking a seat on the edge of the stage next to her. He glances out across the tables. "Gambling. Hum. Good think I neglected to bring a good amount of credits with me otherwise I'd be losing them all no doubt." He then looks up to Rish. "The alternative is infinitely better though." He quirks an eyebrow at Karlan but then just looks down at his lap and empty glass, shaking his head slightly. "Shouldn't have fuckin' left her alone," Malion mutters, as he looks down to the floor. "Always thought I'd be the one sent to a psych ward." He shakes his head and then sighs, tucking his hands into his pockets. "I... I'm gonna go for a walk... or something." Even though he says it, he remains motionless where he stands. Freyssinet frowns. "I am a doctor." she says to Malion. "Is there anything I could to do to help with.. whoever you are talking about?" Jeff Ryan grins peering down at the woman, he bends down enough to get a proper grip of the woman. Picking her up, he kisses her. After the kiss breaks off, slowly at first, finishing in pecks to the lips, he looks at her again with concern. "How you holding up girl?" "Well, I'll have to go back to playing as soon as I'm done with my drink here," Arizhel replies, smiling at Karlan. For the record, she's making no move to finish that drink just yet. "I dunno, until things clear up, or until my fingers get tired, I suppose." She shrugs faintly, then shifts her eyes to Larin, her expression bemused. "What, I'm going to have to teach you how to gamble, too?" Karlan shrugs and steps away to get his drink, sipping it absently and muttering to himself, sitting down. "Surviving." Lydia replies with a smile, then laughs. "Better if you put me down." She adds with a hint of humour. "A headache won't keep me down. And I DID send an inquiry to that gentleman I was telling you about, so you're not allowed to kidnap me yet." She pauses briefly, then says warningly, "I can't hide out here long, I'm afraid, have to keep an eye on things." She seems a bit regretful about that fact. "Not yourr fault, chief," Swiftfoot says, reaching over to pat Malion's arm reassuringly. "We'll fix it." The felinoid shakes her head and shifts her eyes to the doctor. "Not unless you can fix someone that's had theirr mind tamperred with psionically, Frrey. She's prretty messed up." She sighs and shakes her head again, her brow furrowed and her tail flicking irritably. As the Nall leaves, the Demarian looks after him briefly before commenting, "Thank Brrakirr..." "Maybe after you're done playing.", Larin remarks with a grin. "I'd still like to steal you away to talk after the party. It's getting a bit stuffy in here." He watches the progress of the drink with a fair bit of satisfaction. "I'm not all /that/ interested in gambling." Freyssinet blinks. "I am not a psionic doctor, but I know one... Hezekiah, from the AES. Maybe he could help you. That is so sad..." Andreo takes a sip of his new glass of wine and nods appreciatively. He turns back around to the room and starts looking around. Jeff Ryan nods sadly, "Wouldn't do for people to start talking." He glances towards the door, and obliges putting her down. "I've sort of been wishing I hadn't decided to blow my cover. I've left you alone a week and you've been in hospital and your crew's been shot at, deliberate target or no. I'm sort of tempted to hang around a while." "You're welcome to, if you think it'll be safe. We'll chat more on it later, love. Now's not the time for such things." Lydia says, turning for one last little kiss before she ducks back into the resturant ahead of him, going back for her drink. Malion looks up to Frey and narrows his eyes. "That useless bastard?" he says, his voice quite bitter. "He almost killed me when I was having one of me turns... Ain't going send me sister to a bloke like him." He doesn't attempt to apologise or correct himself, but looks back to the ground. "Don't trust psionics these days." Jeff Ryan scrubs his cheek before heading back into the restaurant. He glances at the Jackals, giving a nod to Malion before finally deciding to head to the other end of the bar, next to Mr Lourdes. Arizhel looks after Karlan for a moment, her brow faintly furrowed. After a moment, she shakes her head, and shifts her gaze to Larin. "I wouldn't mind having a chat later on," she says, smiling. She quirks a brow and tips back the remainder of her drink, offering the empty glass to the Lunite with a wry smirk. "There's a present for you, my dear." Swiftfoot snorts, shaking her head. "I can't even do anything to help herr. I just hope we can find something out." The felinoid flicks her tail, then holds up a paw. "I'll be back, you two," she says, as she turns and pads toward the bar. Andreo's in the middle of a sip when Jeff sits down next to him, so he nods slightly to the Lunite when he's lowered the glass. Karlan has the glass refilled, and stares at it for a long while before drinking from it again, grimacing, but smiling faintly for a moment before shaking his head. Jens is pouring a rather regular-looking martini for a young woman, chatting amiably with her. He sets it on the counter, then snags a slice of lemon. When the fruit is squeezed over the drink, the whole thing begins to glow, a soft pink colour. Freyssinet sighs. "Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with him... But don't give up. There are bastards in every race, you know." Jeff Ryan nods in return to Andreo, his brow furrowing at the sight of the other man. The quizzical look fades after a moment and he nods, "Nice party no?" Larin stands up with both drinks with a smirk. He sneaks a quick peck on the cheek before he replies, "And there's yours...for luck of course. Best get back to that wonderful thing you do.". A wink delivered and Larin heads off towards the bar to deposit the drinks. A smile aproximately a mile long rests on his lips as he slides up next to Jeff. Andreo keeps his eyes on Jeff's even after the question. "Quite," he says, a slight European accent in his voice, "This is a nice place." Martine moves over to the tables, pausing to play a hand of blackjack. If nothing else, she's a graceful loser. A good quality when you're as awful at bluffing as she is. A few minutes later, she walks over to the stage, giving Rish a small smile. "All going fine?" Karlan moves over to Arizhel, drink in hand, and smiles at her for a moment before sighing. "Rish, if I head out during the party, I'll be around the crew quarters, or just outside the Harlequin. I think this drink is getting to me." He grins, and turns around to move back to the bar. Malion looks up as Swifty speaks, catching Jeff's nod, returns it with a wave. "Grab us one of the Ungstiri sunrise things would ya?" With a sigh, he looks back to Frey. "If it wasn't for Ren Arnassis, I'd most likely be dead... Twice he's saved my arse. Haven't seen that old fart around lately though." The emerald-clad woman blushes faintly and smiles at Larin, nodding. "Yeah, before I get in trouble, hm?" She chuckles and watches him walk toward the bar for a couple of moments before her attention is caught by Martine. "Everything's going fine," Rish says, nodding. "I took a break for the drink Larin brought me, and I'm about to go back to doin my thing. Got any requests, mi capitan?" She blinks at Karlan then, nodding and smiling briefly, reaching out to touch his arm affectionately before she turns her attention back to the captain. Jeff Ryan nods in response to Andreo with a small smile, "It is at that." As Larin sidles up he looks at the man quizzically, "What's got you so happy? Last time I saw you, I was concerned about leaving you around sharp objects." Swiftfoot looks back over her shoulder at Malion, nodding and holding up one white-furred paw in a 'thumbs up' gesture. That done, she steps up to the bar and makes a valiant attempt at getting Jens' attention. "I'm feeling a bit sentimental tonight." Lydia admits in a quietly amused voice, then nods towards the piano. "I don't suppose you still have that one we used to do together?" She looks a little wistful. "I'd like to hear you play it, even if there's no band behind it." "Of just a bit of sport.", Larin remarks with a light smirk, sliding the empty glasses across the bar to Jens. He looks back towards Rish. "Lovely, intelligent, and cultured." He winces slightly. "Almost available. Almost." He taps his fingers across the bar before he looks to Jens. "Scotch. A lot of ice though. Need to keep my wits about me." Jens notes the Demarian. It's easy to do, she's quite a bit taller than her companions. He finishes making another one of those glowing martinis. The assistant pours the scotch, that's an easy one, and the bartender goes to inquire what the others need. Andreo watches Jeff for a moment after the man turns away before he looks away to take another sip of his wine. "Of course I have it!" Rish exclaims, grinning. "Right.... here! You're gonna sing it, right?" A mischevious sparkle dances in the ebon-haired woman's eyes as she eyes the captain. "Cmon, for old time's sake. Just like that bar way back... geez, I don't even remember where it was anymore." She laughs lightly, setting the music on the stand atop the piano. Freyssinet nods, "Ren... Been very very long. No idea!" The Demarian nods at Jens, flicking her ears companionably. "A pairr of Ungstirri sunrrises, if you will, good sirr," she says, sliding more than enough credits across the bar to cover the drinks and winking at the bartender. "The extrra is forr you, frriend." Martine heaves a sigh, then shakes her head. "I haven't sung in such a long time." She mutters quietly, but gives in with fairly good grace. Taking the stairs up the stage, she sits on the far side of the bench next to Rish, out of general view. "You're lucky I'm sentimental, you know. I wouldn't do this for anyone else." "Just make sure you do keep your wits about you Mr Weyr," says Jeff with a nod following the man's gaze, he takes a sip of his brandy. "I've no objections of course, but don't allow yourself to get too distracted." He glances towards Andreo again and asks, "Passenger on the ship?" Larin tracks his gaze down to Lydia and gives Jeff a knowing smirk. "Of course.", Larin returns. "...Boss." A chuckle at that and a sip of his scotch. Andreo looks back to Jeff, not straying too far from the Lunite's eyes. "No, just a visitor," he says as he shakes his head a little bit, "Taking a break from covering the Sivadian thing here." Rish chuckles, grinning at the captain. "It's like riding a bike, Lydia. Just like it." She quirks a brow and retrieves a microphone from near the piano, clipping it to the stand and winking at Lydia. "Don't worry, I'll be right there with you, Capitan." The piano player puts her fingers to the keys then, playing the opening strains of the song. All drinks are delivered in their due course, though there's less people drinking at the bar now. The waitresses are doing most of the drink orders, bringing them out to the gamblers. Malion crosses his arms across his chest and nods. "Good bloke," he mutters. "I've learned a lot from him from when I worked with him in the AES... If it wasn't for his advice, they'd be a ship down and owe a heap of cash to the next of kin of the crew that would have been lost." He pauses for a moment, startint to tear up and then adds. "Don't suppose ya could put me onto a psychologist?" Swiftfoot nods to Jens and picks up both drinks, padding back over to where Frey and Malion stand. "Herre ya go, chief," she says, offering one of the glasses of black liquid to the Martian. "Watch it forr awhile, it's prretty cool." "Journalist?" asks Ryan with interest. Freyssinet frowns, "You worked with the AES? that's when I must have seen you..." she shrugs, "My field is more surgery, trauma, nanotech - but I can ask about good psys on Unsgtir, if you want. Wanna leave me your datapad, so I can contact you?" Martine heaves a small sigh at Rish's insistance, but doesn't fight it. After all, she's not in uniform, and it's likely she won't get teased too badly over this. Catching her opening easily, she begins singing the old song in a warm, rich voice, "Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars..." Though the music is still little more than background noise, it's been piano all night, no singing, so the change catches a few people's notice. Larin gives Jeff a tug on the sleeve as he stands up once more, his attention still on the piano as it switches to the singing act. "Care to give them an enthralled audience?", Larin quips. He doesn't wait for a response moving to stand by and watch the performance while nursing his bit of scotch. Andreo shrugs a little bit, "In a very loose sense of the word. More like a commentator." He takes another sip. "Are you a guest?" he asks. His eyes only leave Jeff for a brief moment when Larin leaves, but they quickly return. Arizhel smiles triumphantly and follows right along with the captain, adding her sultry contralto to the mix as she keeps the piano part moving along with an eerily easy familiarity. Malion takes the drink form the Demarian and looks up to her, offering a smile. "Cheers Swifty," he says in reply. He looks back to Frey and nods. "Yep, was with them for about two months... I'm kinda the reason they had to face the Citizen's Committee there." He raises the drink and has watches the colours change, with the darker colours settling on the bottom. "Hey.. this is kinda cool." The Martian blinks and looks back to Frey. "Few things led up to me leaving, main thing was that I didn't exactly fit in there." Jeff Ryan shakes his head, "No, just a visitor, though I tend to frequent the ship whenever she stops on Greenville, best parties in town." As Lydia starts up his eyes snap towards the woman, he moves a little to get a better view, shaking his head at Larin. His face remains impassive. "Naw, he's with us now," Swiftfoot interjects, grinning. "A rright good Jackal he makes, too." She blinks, and again watches her drink for a moment. The Demarian loses interest more quickly this time, however, and eventually just resigns herself to taking a healthy swig from the glass. Freyssinet frowns, "I heard it was more a ... serie of several brawls, not just one individual." she nods slowly. "Well, as I personally can't get along with marlan..." Lydia seems a bit embarassed, but as the song continues on she relaxes, her higher voice blending neatly together with Rish's, obviously something they're both used to. She doesn't note any interest, more wrapped up in watching the music progress. Freyssinet grins at Swift's addition. "I see... The Jackals are great. How's miss Mika?" Andreo nods a little to Jeff. He watches him leave for a moment before glancing up to the stage, and then back to his glass. Larin bobs his head along to a song he must remember from another life. He smiles and when his memory serves him, mouths the words along. His attention is most notably directed to the piano player. Jeff Ryan follows Lydia's singing for a verse or two, his expression not changing. He shakes his head after a moment and sits down, "Not bad." Karlan drinks nonchalantly, tapping his foot in tune with the song absently. Malion takes an big drink form his glass before coughing. "Bloody hell," he coughs out. "Got a bit of kick to it." He tucks his spare into his pocket and remains listens to the conversation intently. He passes a curious glance towards the stage, before losing interest. Rish grins and sneaks a brief glance over her shoulder at Martine. She turns back to the keys soon enough though, the tune uninterrupted. The way they sing together, the way they're both submerged in the music, t's pretty obvious the two of them have done this before. For old time's sake, indeed. Freyssinet grins at the scene, "Play it again, Sam." she chuckles for Mal. Some of the guests are turning in chips for prizes by now, especially the older ladies and gentlemen. Many of the prizes seem to be of the souvineer type, glasses and coffee mugs, decks of playing cards, t-shirts. A few of the more expensive ones are quite nice, but certainly more than most are winning. Heavy thuds accompany Anelie's footsteps as she enters the Harlequin from the outside corridor. Greeted by a staff member as she enters the room, Anelie nods her head towards the member but proceeds to shake her head when she is offered her gambling credits. Anelie pushes past the staffer in order to get a better view of the Harlequin in its transformed state with her interest finally resting on the bar itself. Swiftfoot chuckles, her whiskers bristling. "Surre does. Like I said, I betcha fourr orr five of these would have me staggerring." The felinoid's ears flick toward the stage, but she doesn't seem to have an over-abundance of music appreciation this evening, instead choosing to keep her attention on the conversation at hand. The bartender waves Anelie over, grinning in recognition. "Hi, sweetie." Jens says to her, in the middle of pouring something. "What can I get you?" Freyssinet nods, "Yep. And with my own volume, one of those babies is worth two in your average human." she chuckles. "I must get going. Take care!" Martine trails off as the song comes to an end, and finally looks up. Noting the interest, her face turns a curious shade of pink, and she shoots Rish an accusing look. "I'm never going to live this down. You know that, don't you?" Andreo poltiely applauds for a moment when the song stops. Two of the circulating waitresses stop for a quick word in front of the kitchen doors. A quick word made significantly quicker by the a scuttling sound from within. They quickly go back to circulating as K'raktic skitters through the doors and takes a look around to make sure everything is going smoothly out here. Karlan claps wildly for a while, smiling at the two women and sipping the rest of the drink, facing the stage, sitting with his side towards the bar. Malion nods. "Catch ya 'round Doc," he says, giving a brief smile to Frey. He looks up to Swifty and laughs. "I'm with her, think two more of these and I think I'll be spewing me ring up." Once more he drinks from the glass. "Oh, you're fine," Arizhel reassures the captain, grinning. "Cmon, it was fun. It's good to see you happy enough to sing, you know. We have to do that more often." Larin gives a rather loud applaud and a grin to the pair. "Very well done. How about an encore?", Larin asks with a grin. "I'm sure there's something else in there." His emeralds focus mostly on Rish of course. Jeff Ryan joins in with a polite clap of his own, glancing again in the direction of the singer and the piano player. He smiles at Andreo, "Like I said, best parties on Greenville. How long you staying for?" Swiftfoot laughs aloud, nodding at Malion. "Yeah, you need to learrn to hold yourr liquorr, chief," she quips, grinning. The felinoid flicks her ears at Freyssinet, nodding. "I'll see you wheneverr I'm on Ungstirr again, Frrey. I'll say hello to Mika if I hearr frrom herr, meh?" Razorback pads silently through the doors of the restaurant, thankful for the height-friendly construction of the door that doesn't force him to duck. Pausing within, he scans the room, a tooth-filled smile spreading over his face as he spots Swiftfoot. Martine grumps quietly and escapes, heading in the direction of the kitchen. Probably one of the few times someone's ever been -relieved- to see K'raktic. "Everything going all right?" She inquires a bit breathlessly as she approaches the Odarite. "Depends on how long it takes for my editor to start barking for another column," Andreo says to Jeff with a sly smile. K'raktic looks up at Martine, almost not recognizing her out of uniform. He nods quickly though, "As well as possible. Anything you need, Captain?" Anelie beams a friendly smile towards the bartender as he addresses her. "Remember the drink you served me at the beach party...the 'fruity' one?" She broadens her smile as she lets a small pause fall between her words. "I do not -ever- want to have one of those again. I think a...black martini will be fine for starters this time." "Well fine then, I'll do one myself," Arizhel says primly, putting her nose into the air and turning away from Martine to retrieve a guitar from across the stage. "As long as nobody minds a shift of instruments, that is." The statement seems to be largely rhetorical, as she starts to check the tuning of the instrument. Malion nods in agreement with Swifty. "Yeah," he says. "Been cutting back since me last turn on Demaria... Scarred the hell out me." Jeff Ryan nods at that with a chuckle, "Bosses." He takes another sip of his brandy, "Doesn't seem to be much on the sivadian front here these days anyway. The Regreb Bay left. Still, plenty of other newsworthy events, Hancock Station, the explosions earlier this week. No orders on those fronts?" "Mmh...why not try something different?" Jens says, eager to try out his newest toy. He draws out a bottle of some liquor, the bottle showing that it's completely clear. Strangely enough, the label is clear as well, the name and everything on it embossed, but not coloured. "I'll make you a..." He pauses for dramatic effect. "Voltini!" The orange-furred felinoid nods sympathetically at Malion, her brow slightly furrowed. "I'll pin you down if you take a fit, meh?" she says, her expression unreadable. Swiftfoot's eyes shift across the room then, easily picking out the tall form of Razorback. She flicks her tail at him, waving him over to join herself and the Martian. "I certainly don't mind.", Larin remarks, not quite recognizing it as rhetorical. He moves to sit on the edge of the stage again and looks up at Rish. "After this I just had a lovely idea you know...". A mischevious smile comes to his face. "Yes, everything's fine." Lydia assures the chef, glancing around the room. "Seems you're all right for staff. Did you get that new shipment of shrimp in time for the party?" She inquires, with a look of concern. "I know the first one wasn't up to standard." "I was convering it," Andreo replies with a smile, "Vacation's on until said barking begins." Malion chuckles and then swallows. "Just hoping I don't have one Swifty," he says in reply, the colour going from his face. "I almost caused a scene on the beach." He holds his glass tighter before taking another drink. "I hope I never have another one." Silvereye walks into the Harlequin bar, his paws in the pockets of his coat. The Battleclaw's gaze sweeps lazily across the interior of the room, not quite sure where to go. The emerald-clad musician smiles faintly at Larin, nodding. "Didn't think you would," Rish quips, running her fingers absently through a few chords to warm up. "Hm, you'll have to show me when I'm done here, no?" She smiles and starts to play then, a tune with a catchy three-count beat. Anelie lets out a small chuckle as she places a hand on the bar. "Oh, A Voltini?" She flickers her gaze down the sides of the bar before turning her attention back to the bartender. "You piqued my interest. Let's try this -Voltini- of yours." Anelie puts some extra emphasis on her final words as she attempts to playfully mimic the bartender's excitement. K'raktic nods in response, "No problems from our end. Are you enjoying yourself?" He glances at her unusual (for her anyway) attire as he asks the question, chortling quietly. Ryan nods to Andreo, "Greenville's a nice enough change of pace, or at least it was until recently... You from sivad?" "I suppose I will unless you've other pl...", Larin begins but trails off as she begins playing. His eyes dart from her fingers to face to outfit and then back to fingers with a smirk. Razorback glances back as Silvereye makes his entrance. "Good evening, Bat...Ssilverrreye," he says, catching himself. With a respectful nod to the other Demarian he turns back inwards and crosses the room towards the Jackals. "Good evening, my lady," he says coming up beside Swiftfoot, "Arrre you having a pleasant time?" Jens -is- rather excited, as he always is when he discovers something new. The clear liquor is measured into a glass of ice, a few dashes of sweet vermouth added. The whole thing is shaken and poured, nothing too unusual, just like your standard martini. At the end, however, he selects a slice of lime, then shakes his head and takes an orange slice instead. He squeezes it into the drink, which suddenly begins to glow a pale leaf green. "La Terre," Andreo replies before taking a sip. Silvereye bobs his snout towards Razorback, smirking slightly. "Evening, Razorback." The Battleclaw replies. "Altheor's Teeth is like I can't get away from anyone." He jokes lightly, wading through the crowd and looking over the assembled faces before heading to the bar. Jeff Ryan nods with a smile, "La Terre? I used to spend a lot of time there years ago." He glances towards the door and stands, "Excuse me, but I have to head back. A pleasure meeting you." Arizhel gets through the song's intro, her eyes half closed as she starts to sing. She's most definitely not singing in Standard, however. Though the words may not be understood by most, the feeling behind them is almost unmistakable. "Este amor apasionado, anda todo alborotado... por volver... Voy camino a la locura, y aunque todo me tortura... se querer..." Swiftfoot grins and inclines her head to Razorback, then nods. "Most definitely. I always enjoy these parrties. They know how to thrrow em, let me tell you. Even better'n setting my crrew loose with two bottles of whateverr that blue stuff we've got on boarrd is." The felinoid chuckles, and leans over to touch her nose against that of her companion. "How does this evening find you, my love?" "Ciao," Andreo says to Jeff before the Lunite leaves. He turns to watch the stage, listening to the song. Occasionally he seems to be silently singing along. Larin removes a small stack of chips from his jacket and idly watches Rish play her song, admiration still in his eyes. As she plays he plays with the chips distractedly in though. "Confused," Razorback replies with a smile, "It took ssome doing to trrrack you down. Onsce I did, I figurrred that I would join you." He glances around, chuckling quietly to himself. Anelie turns her back to the bar as her drink is being made diligently by the bartender. Her attention has been drawn towards Arizhel as she begins to sing. The broad smile on her face remains as she listens to the song briefly before turning back around towards the bar proper to check on the progress of her drink. Malion takes a few steps away, deciding to give Swifty and Razor alone for a few minutes and makes his way back towards the bar. "Back in a few," he states. He arches a brow as he notices a familar Demarian making his way there also, he narrows his eyes, and then laughs. "Bloody hell Silvereye, ya got leave or something mate?" Arizhel flicks her gaze up toward Larin, meeting his eyes and smiling faintly as she continues to play and sing. "Nos dejamos hace tiempo, pero me llego el momento... de perder... tu tenias mucha razon, le hago caso al corazon... y me muero por volver..." Karlan raises an eyebrow at Arizhel as she sings, looking back at Larin, then at his drink, which he finishes briskly, sighing and leaning against the bar. Silvereye smirks at Malion, seating himself at the bar and looking for the bartender. "Yep. Just wrapped up a major rehaul of the military police forces so I got the weekend off." The Demarian replies, looking over his shoulder at Malion. "And it's not leave if you're still in commlink range." Jens hands over the glowing green drink to the waitress, with a grin. "Now isn't that pretty?" He asks, then turns his attention to anyone else who's seeking him. "Why confused?" the orange-furred Demarian inquires, tilting her head to the side. "And it couldn't have been harrd to figurre out wherre I was, with all the commotion going on arround this ship, meh?" Swiftfoot chuckles, and leans close to Razorback again, scrunching her nose up as she brushes his whiskers with hers. "Doing fine." Lydia assures the chef, with a smile. "I wanted to look nice tonight." She chuckles mildly at the Odarite's appraisal. "What, don't you approve?" Malion takes a seat beside Silvereye, and looks up to him. "Good news mate... Got me residency on Demaria," he replies, grinning from ear to ear. "Got meself out of debt also." His grins dies off and he looks back down and finishes of the Ungstiri sunrise he's been nursing for the last half hour. "Ya want something to drink? My shout." Lost in sound and gaze, Larin continues to stack and restack his chips in hand. A light smile remains fixed on his lips as the song progresses. K'raktic laughs some more, his antennae twitching. "I am glad to see you relax. And if you feel the need to decorate yourself, who am I to suggest otherwise." "You are a kind, kind creature." Lydia says to the Odarite with a charming smile. Most of the staff would be quite surprised at how easily they converse together. Karlan sighs deeply and watches Arizhel intently, tapping his fingers on the bar counter. "Y volver, volver, volver... a tus brazos otra vez... llegare hasta donde estes, yo se perder, yo se perder, quiero volver, volver, volver..." The ebon-haired woman stops singing there, shifting her eyes away from the Lunite as she plays an elaborate melody on the guitar that mirrors the tune she was singing. K'raktic's clacks his mandibles at the woman, "Well, don't spread it around, or we'll have utter chaos back there." He jerks his carapaced head back towards the kitchen. Silvereye smiles back at Malion, nodding slightly. "Yeah, I go for something to drink." The Battleclaw waves to the tender. "And I'm glad to hear you're gettin' yourself out of trouble. When's the Jackal gonna be headed back towards my end of the galaxy? It's getting kinda quiet." Anelie 's eyes widen as she reaches for the odd-colored drink. She quickly picks up her drink and raises in appreciation towards the busy bartender. "You're never one for dullness, Jens." She states with a smile as she looks down the bar again. This time she doesn't look back at the bar, but instead she rests her gaze on Karlan. She then slowly makes her way down the side of the bar towards Karlan with her green drink in hand. Razorback smiles at Swiftfoot again, leaning forward to stroke the side of his face with his own. "It is good to ssee you off the sship and having a good time," he says quietly, pulling back to beam at her. "Of course. I musn't besmirch your reputation." Lydia replies, all seriousness. "Tonight's a light night, I promise next time we'll have something with a bit more challenge to it." "Meh, I always have a good time," Swiftfoot retorts, chuckling. "Well, except when I'm strressed out orr pissed off, which seems to be most of the time lately." The orange-furred felinoid grins and flicks her ears. "It's good to see you in something besides those damnable blue jumpsuits, my love." Malion looks across to a cashier and says, "What's the chance of getting two of those double helix shots when the bartender has time?" He reaches into his grin jacket and fishes around for a moment before bringing out a couple of notes and places them on the bar with his hand on top. "Don't really know Silver," the Martian replies, before motioning with his head in the direction of the orange furred Demarian. "Ya'd have to talk to Swifty about that, I've been wanting to get off this rock and back there for a week now." Razorback snorts in amusement, "Can you ssee me tossssing carrrgo on the Jackal in these?" He laughs, putting an arm around Swiftfoot's shoulders, removing what little space separates them. Larin continues to smile as he looks down to the work in his hand. He looks up to see Anelie making her way over towards Karlan and bites at his lip lightly. It doesn't take much effort to return his attention to the musician however. The orange-furred Demarian chuckles, her whiskers bristling in obvious glee. "No, not rreally. But still, it's nice to see you looking like the dashing man I know you arre." She mrrls softly and lays her head against Razorback's shoulder, her expression one of utter contentment. K'raktic nods, "Stacking miniature sandwiches is a bit dull at that." He glances up at the woman for a moment, "Were you ... singing before?" Karlan raises an eyebrow at Anelie, smiling sadly at her and nodding. "Hello. Having fun?" Arizhel finishes up with the instrumental solo and repeats the chorus, holding the last note for as long as she can, the accompanying guitar music trailing off as her voice does. "Mmh... I haven't sung that one in years," she comments absently, shifting her eyes to Larin and chuckling. "What did you think? I know you probably didn't understand the words..." "This is a great rock to get stuck on." Silvereye replies to Malion, anticipating the shots as they get prepared. He glances over at Swiftfoot as she's indicated. "And I'm not gonna interupt Swiftfoot's good time. They look pretty cozy. Be something like a crime to go over there." The Battleclaw turns back to the bar as the shots are delivered. "What is this stuff, anyway?" Anelie rests a few steps away from Karlan. She shifts her gaze from the Karlan towards Arizhel before looking back towards Karlan. "Karlan" She pronounces with a particularly rough 'K'. "I wonder, do you sing yourself?" She nods with a smile towards Karlan as she lifts her drink. "Oh yes..yes, I am having a wonderful time." "Yes, well..." Lydia says, a bit flustered. "I guess you could say that." She finally admits, looking completely embarassed. "You could hear me?" "You already know what I think.", Larin remarks with a full-faced grin. "It was in a word ... remarkable." He plays the word to put a sarcastic Sivadian twist on it. He then snickers a bit after that and checks his chrono. "Planning on anymore?", he ventures. Ordered drinks are delivered, only the serious gamblers still at the tables by now. The serving staff has switched shifts, only a few left, starting to clean up around the remaining guests. Razorback chuckles quietly. "Dashing...? I do not know about that," he says, grinning. Karlan sighs, shaking his head at Anelie. "No, I can't say I do. Not for a crowd, at least." He sips his drink and watches Arizhel intently. "What do you think of the party?" "Don't bloody know mate," Malion says, in reply to Silvereye, giving a slight shrug. "It ain't bad here, just a bit cool and the rain pisses ya off after a while." He takes the shot back in one hit. "Don't leave her sitting, or she'll taste like shit." "Mmh, it looks like things are rather far along now," Rish replies, chuckling as she looks at the Lunite. "More gambling than anything going on. Why, do you have a better idea than staying here?" K'raktic points to his antennae with one of his two remaining claws. "There is little I don't hear," he replies with a chortle, "even at my age." Swiftfoot snorts, poking Razorback in the side with one paw. "You'rre being harrd on yourrself, love. I think you'rre the dashingest... dasherr that everr... dashed." She laughs aloud then, shaking her head. "And you make me say such silly things!" Anelie raises her drink to her lips and tilts it back before nodding her head faintly towards Karlan. "The party? Oh, it is fine, but gambling is not really my thing, ya?" She places her drink on the bar beside her. "What about you Karlan, are you the gambling type?" "Well there's this very nice park on top of a hill. In this park is a tree and under this tree is a cozy little bench.", Larin muses with a light smirk. "Does a certain musician that a certain Lunite knows feel at all inclined to take him up on his offer? Hypotheticals, of course." "I think I know of such a musician," the emerald-clad woman replies, smiling mischeivously. "Hypothetically, of course." She chuckles, and gets up to replace the guitar in its case on the other side of the stage. Silvereye shrugs at Malion, unable to argue with that logic. He downs the shot a few moments after the Martian, hmming lightly to himself as he sets the empty glass back down. The tip of his tail twitches a bit violently. "That's got some kick." He remarks. "So, how you doin', Mal? Everything alright, official stuff aside?" Karlan shakes his head. "Didn't want to gamble tonight. Don't know why. I usually win." He shrugs, still watching Arizhel. "My friend, surely you are not old." Lydia says, looking a bit aghast by such a thought. "I do not believe it in the slightest." She offers a little smile, which quickly turns to a grin. "Thirty-one next Terran solar cycle," the Odarite replies, angling his head. "Certainly not old for a human," he adds quickly, "But we Odarites aren't blessed with so much time. "Well then I believe I've found a willing Lunite who should join you on this exploratory endeavour.", Larin remarks with a smirk. He waits for her and goes so far as to offer his arm in a formal gesture. Too many fru fru drinks normally send one to the restroom. Apparently one just turns you into a Sivadian. Razorback jolts from the unexpected poke, looking at Swiftfoot in bemused surprise. "It ssounds jusst fine to me," he replies, grinning toothily. He glances over her shoulder at the bar before he says, "We sshould ssay hello to Battleclaw Paintedhearrrt. We have not been by in a while...I am ssurrre he misssses uss terrrrrribly..." he grins wryly at the last part. Anelie rests her elbows on the bar before her and then turns her head towards Karlan. "Then you have the better luck between us." Her gaze drifts towards her drink before speaking up at Karlan, "I hear you have been through alot in these last few days, I'm glad to see that you still managed to make the party. Things area usually better with more people, ya?" "Yes and no," Malion replies to Silvereye, as he stares at one of the bottles on the wall. "Tia's me problem at the moment, she's a bit screwed up." He closes his eyes for a moment, and shakes his head. "She got her drink spiked at one of the Bistros, then mind raped... I've Sent her off to a place on QuaQuan for Mental Rehab." He leans forward on the bar and shakes his head. "Shouldn't have left her alone... She's nineteen, I know, but I should have been there and kept an eye on her." Arizhel smiles and threads her arm through Larin's, fussing briefly with a stray strand of her hair. "So, where's this park? I hope it's not a long walk. The shoes would kill my feet, I think." Martine nods her head at the Odarite, then gives an apologetic smile. "Must take care of something." She says, giving him another smile before stepping away, heading towards the bar. Swiftfoot chuckles and nods, brushing her whiskers against Razorback's before she straightens and pads toward the bar. "Evening, Silverreye," the orange-furred felinoid says, nodding. "How does this evening find you, frriend?" Karlan shrugs. "Perhaps. Perhaps not." He stands up and makes his way towards Arizhel, sighing. "Rish, I'm going back to my quarters. Don't worry about me, if you're leaving with him." He steps away and orders one last drink over the counter. K'raktic nods to the woman, takes a last look around, then retreats back into 'Hell.' "Only one way to find out.", Larin remarks coyly. As Karlan gives his speech and wanders off he looks to Rish with a light frown. "I've not been overdoing it tonight have I?" Silvereye hmms, listening to Malion while he traces the rim of his glass with a finger. "I'm sorry to hear that." He says quietly. "Not whole lot I can say, I guess, just hope that she gets better." The Battleclaw nods as if reinforcing the point. "They got good people." He looks up as Swiftfoot arrives, smiling a little bit. "Evening, Swiftfoot. I'm doin' alright." Martine stops next to the engineer, clearing her throat. Jens finishes making the drink and leaves it there while Lydia speaks to Karlan. "I hope you're doing all right." She begins, then frowns. "I'm very sorry for what happened, and I want you to take as long as you need in rest." Anelie lets out a small sigh as she watches Karlan leave the bar to walk towards Arizhel. "Dummkopf in der Liebe" she mentions this phrase in an odd tongue to herself as she watches the exchange between Karlan and Arizhel. Giving her head a small shake, she turns back to her drink to take another sip. Razorback turns to follow Swiftfoot, nodding to Martian and the Battleclaw as the pair reaches them. Arizhel's eyes narrow, and her brow furrows slightly. "Karlan, you're the one that's been sitting over here at the bar all night, leaving Larin to keep me company. What do you -want- from me?" She sighs, shaking her head and shifting her eyes to the Lunite. "No, Larin, you're fine. I think I need to get out of here for a few moments, though." Karlan turns to the captain and pats her arm lightly, nodding and leaning into his cane. "Don't worry, captain. It's... not the first time this happens. I'll be fine. I'm better off working, anyway." He turns to Arizhel, and smiles at her. "I know. Don't worry, though, I'll just leave you two alone. Don't want to, er, stir up trouble." Swiftfoot nods at the Battleclaw, her tail flicking absently. "Good to hearr. How's the home frront holding up? Any morre strrange encounterrs with humans in suits?" she inquires, chuckling. "Sorry forr the away time, by the way. Just thought we could use a change of pace, meh? Should be heading back sometime soon, though." Larin frowns just a bit more at the exchange before he is happy to oblige. He leads Rish through the tumultuous crowd in front of the bar. On the way out he grabs his jacket, giving Rish ample time to reply back should she wish. Malion remains leaning against the bar and rests his head against his hands for a moment. "I'll see ya guys later," he says, as he slips away from his chair, and makes his way around Razorback and Swifty. "Good to see ya again Silver." He hangs his head low and heads towards the exit. Arizhel merely sighs, shaking her head and muttering under her breath as she follows Larin out into the hallway. Silvereye flicks his tail towards Malion in a wave as the human gets up. "So long, Malion. Give your sister my best." The Battleclaw calls after before looking back at Swiftfoot. "We're doin' fine. Work as usual, I got the weekend off so I thought I'd head over here. And don't mind being away, it's not a big deal and you've got other stuff to worry about." Razorback's head swivels to track Malion, concern rippling across his face. As the make makes a quick exit, however, he returns his attention to the conversation at hand. Swiftfoot flicks her ears at Malion, nodding as the Martian leaves. She shifts her eyes back to the Battleclaw then, her expression curious. "Hrh, yeah, we've been trrying to look into this thing with Tiana. Haven't gotten much of anything thus farr, but therre hasn't been a whole lot to go on, eitherr." She shrugs vaguely, shaking her head. "I almost fearr what I'll do if we find out who it is." "As long as you're sure." Lydia says mildly, then heads over to speak to one of the dealers. The tables are all folding up, gear being put away. The bar is still open, however, and people still linger over drinks. "Just keep 'em away from Malion." Silvereye replies, looking between the other two Demarians. "I say turn 'em into the authorities but I guess it depends on where it is. Sivad they'd give you a fair trial but I dunno about some other places. Could be hard to prove. If that's the case..." The Demarian shrugs. "You catch him someplace the law doesn't extend? Let him know." Razorback looks to Swiftfoot as the current difficulty is brought up. "I sspoke to the woman frrrom the bisstrrro, by the way. I do not believe that sshe is witholding any inforrrmation frrrom uss. In fact, sshe sseems morrre than willing to help find out what is going on." He nods in agreement with Silvereye's train of thought. "Charrley?" Swiftfoot inquires, head tilted to the side. "Hrh, therre's something about that one I do not like, but I didn't think she was lying, eitherr. Simply that she didn't have the inforrmation as of yet. She did tell us that she would get it, though." Anelie awkwardly sits herself on a bar stool as she swivels her feet underneath the ledge of the protruding bar. With no one in close vicinity, her drink is the only thing that occupies her thoughts. She raises the drink in what it appears to be a mock toast to herself. A quick drink from her glass later and she almost completely empties the glass. "I'm never sure of anything. It's what being a Timonae is all about," Karlan replies, stepping out of the bar lamely, sighing to himself and offering Anelie a smile over his shoulder. He stops, turns around, and surveys the room thoughtfully. "It's bad no matter how you look at it." Silvereye replies with a more or less bummed out tone of voice. He sighs lightly. "Nothing good is gonna come of it, it's the kinda stuff that keeps ya awake at night, you know?" The Battleclaw shrugs. Razorback nods to Silvereye before turning to Swiftfoot, "And sshe does not want to believe that it could be herrr frrriend." He pauses, "I hearrr that Malion was thrrreatening herrr to attempt to obtain furrrtherrr inforrrmation." Swiftfoot grimaces, nodding. "He is difficult to keep a leash on sometimes." She shakes her head, the end of her tail flicking irritably. "I don't know what to make of any of it, to be honest." "First off take him back to Demaria." Silvereye replies. How easy it is to slip back into the mask of command once it's been given. "He's gonna hurt this more than he's gonna help it. Malion can't keep his cool and he's gonna end up hurting someone, probably Tiana. So take him back and keep an eye on him. I will too, as often as I can spare 'em." Razorback nods in agreement with Silvereye, "I would ssuggesst that as well. The two of uss can invesstigate thiss a lot morrre easily if he is not assssaulting people because he thinkss they know ssomething." "I suppose you could be rright," the orange-furred Demarian agrees, nodding hesitantly. "I just think he has everry rright to be angrry. Tiana is his sisterr. I'd be angrry if such a thing happened to one of the memberrs of my family, too." Anelie finishes her drink and leaves it at the bartender for him to attend to it when he can. She then slowly slips back out of the bar stool and back onto her heeled feet. She folds her hands together as she leans her back against the bar and looks out over the room, searching for familiar faces. Karlan sighs, shakes his head and walks out of the room, the cane falling onto the floor regularly, the only sound he makes as he moves out silently. "Last call!" Comes the traditional half-hour warning of the bartender. The captain heads over towards the bar herself, not to get a drink, but to chat with the people there as they start to leave for the night. Silvereye nods almost immediately and with force towards Swiftfoot. "Absolutely. If anything happened to Ripplefur I'd be mad as the hells, I'd want to tear that person apart. Which is why no one would let me anywhere near the person who did it. I'd just get in the way. No one's sayin' Malion shouldn't be angry, just that he's gonne hurt himself and her." A slight frown floats across Anelie's face as she watches Karlan make his way out of the Harlequin. Her frown soon disappears as she spies the captain walking towards the bar. Anelie smiles towards Martine and offers a friendly wave towards her. "Evenin' Captain, the party went well, ya?" "Hrr," Swiftfoot replies, nodding. "That makes sense. All rright, I'll end up having to send him back to Demarria then, orr perrhaps just leaving the ship therre, and taking the shuttle back herre to New Luna. I'm surre I could find a place to stay in town while we look into this mess." Razorback frowns tightly. "Of courrrsse he has a rrright to be angrrry ... at those rrressponsible. If he keepss thrrreatening anyone who could prrrovide inforrrmation, we may neverrr get to the bottom of thiss." "Indeed." Lydia agrees pleasantly, returning Anelie's smile with one of her own. "Thank you for your help earlier in the evening, I'm glad to see that you got to enjoy some of it." Silvereye nods to Swiftfoot. "I'm sure I could occupy him something. Some kinda busy work, Altheor knows there's plenty of it to be done. I'm sure he'll forgive us if we end up getting results. Just keep in touch." "Always," Swiftfoot says, chuckling. "Well, okay, sometimes. I'm awful about correspondence, I know." She snorts softly, shaking her head. "Always seems like therre's eighteen otherr things to do aside frrom rrememberring to send messages to people." Razorback nods a bit, looking to Silvereye, "We have had quite a worrrkload of late." Anelie broadens her smile at the Captain before dropping a faint nod. "Of course Captain, I love the atmosphere you created in the Harlequin. I -always- seem to miss the singing however." She lets out a small chuckle as she looks towards the stage. "I'll get out there next time I think..should be fun." Silvereye smirks good naturedly towards Razorback. "Really? What have you rogues been up to anyway? I haven't been reading about you in the news so I figure that's a good sign." "Ah, that was just me being terribly silly. Sentimental. Rish and I always used to sing together at this little bar, back when I was just a pilot, and she was just a piano player." Lydia explains, smiling with a bit of chagrin. The orange-furred Demarian smirks, her tail flicking. "Verry funny," she says, chuckling. "I've been making nice with some of the crrew of the High Rroller, and we've been doing some standarrd carrgo rruns. Not necessarrily verry prrofitable, but they keep us brreaking even, meh?" Razorback says, "High Rrrollerrr?" Razorback asks, "That is news to me..." He chuckles a bit, shaking his head." "Arizhel and you go way back then?" Anelie questions simple before pursing her lips slightly. She thena adds, "She is an interesting individual to say the least." Silvereye nods slowly to Swiftfoot. "Even is good. It'll do ya in a pinch, I guess." The Battleclaw shrugs, chuckling lightly at what Razorback says. "Get used to it. You're not gonna be making any decisions for a while." "She is indeed. We're very different people, but we get along fine." Lydia replies, pausing the conversation for a moment to say her goodnights to a departing couple with a sleepy child. She returns to the waitress after a minute. "Actually, I have a question for you. How do you feel about cats?" Anelie is taken back by the question at first. "Cats? I..well...they are...alright I guess. Why do you ask?", Anelie questions after hesitating throughout her statement. Swiftfoot chuckles, nodding. "It keeps us in food and clothing, anyway," she says, her tail flicking. "I'd like to see something trruly prrofitable come along soon, though." "Mmh, it turns out Mischa's had an extra kitten, I'm trying to find a place for it." Lydia replies, taking a chance to say another goodbye. The last drinks have been poured, and the bar is closing up now. "Difficult to do on a ship." Razorback looks over at Silvereye in mock indignation, "I am not ssupposed to make decisions forrr the sship." He grins at Swiftfoot, his tail making a playful swipe at hers, "I jusst haul carrrgo." Silvereye flicks an ear towards the other conversation, listening in on it a little bit before turning back to Swiftfoot. He waves a paw dismissively at Razorback while he talks to the person who wears the pants. "How's Lunch, by the way? No need to talk work all the time." Anelie flashes a grin towards the Martine. "I would be happy to look after the kitten!", Anelie blurts out with renewed excitement. "Oh that is..if that is what you were eluding to of course." "Lunch is good," Swiftfoot says, chuckling. "Swimming arround in herr little bowl, as happy as a fish could be. I can see now why you found the fishtanks in yourr office to be such a distrraction, though. One fish is enough, much less thrree walls' worrth." "Of course." Lydia says firmly, then smiles. "Larin has claimed the little calico, but there are two black, one black and white, and two gray." She chuckles at the enthusiasm. "Three cats on one ship..." Anelie lets out a small chuckle as she leans her back against the bar. "Three cats are better than three dogs." She gives her head a small shake at the thought. "Much better, ya?" Razorback chuckles a bit, "It is a good thing there is always meat in the kitchen, though..." Silvereye snorts lightly at Razorback. "Please. Lunch isn't hardly a morsel. There are some big ones in my office but they're probably worth more than my paycheck, if I know Imperator Stargazer. It'd be a shame to eat 'em. It's kind of a dilemma, I guess." The lights begin to dim, as good as indicator than any that the night is over. The security start heading towards the door, and the stragglers follow. Lydia starts walking that direction as well, flicking her fingers for Anelie to follow her. "I have a picture on my PDA, which is down in quarters. Their eyes aren't open yet." "Looks like we should be going, boys," Swiftfoot observes, her eyes gleaming red-gold in the low light as she gets up from the bar. "Good parrty as usual, I didn't even rrealize it was this late." The orange-furred Demarian chuckles, and pads toward the exit. Martine's words bring another smile to Anelie's face as she complies with the Captain's gesture. Anelie takes one last look over her shoulder at the stage and the bar before following Martine towards the door. Razorback nods to Swiftfoot, turning to leave as well. He grins at Silvereye, "True, sshe is not verrry big. But ssometimes, when it is late, and I am getting rrready to nod off, therrre is that tiny ssnack floating jusst meterrrs away...." Silvereye nods to Swifty, "Looks that way, doesn't it?" The Battleclaw rises, chuckling to Razorback as he starts to move towards the exit. "I know what you mean. Some days I wonder why I go out of the office for lunch."
