Haber initially became involved with the show through series co-executive producer Meghan McCarthy. During Haber's work on Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, Kaijudo co-creator and story editor Henry Gilroy sent some of Haber's spec scripts to McCarthy. McCarthy later met with Haber personally and tasked him with writing a first draft for Castle Mane-ia. Prior to working on My Little Pony, Haber had written three episodes for Kaijudo. In acting, Haber starred in the 2001 web series Siren and the 2009 independent film The Assistants, and he has had guest roles on Gilmore Girls and Everwood.
