| - Cordite is a very strong metal used in structural reinforcements on Tallon IV. Only Super Missiles can destroy Cordite obstacles.
- Cordite was a name brand smokeless powder originally developed by Sir James Dewar and Sir Fredrick Able (United Kingdom) in 1889. Cordite was produced to replace military gunpowder (now known as black powder ). Cordite was produced in rather long strands resembling spaghetti called “cord powder”. A major draw back to the original form, was that this cord powder, was so large it had to be put into cylinder cartridge brass before it was formed (create the bottle neck).
- Cordite is a strong material that can be destroyed using the Super Missile. Its only appearance was in Metroid Prime. Cordite appeared mostly in the Chozo Ruins, but also in other places of Chozo importance as round displays that appear to represent a star system. The material was also used to strengthen certain objects, such as a column in Research Lab Hydra. It may be the same material of a Super Missile Block, but this is uncertain.
- Cordite is a smokeless explosive that is used as a propellant on Earth during the late-19th century to mid-20th century. It replaced gunpowder (black powder). The recipe for cordite was present in the databanks on the USS Verdun. In 2163 Commodore Lucian Murat had downloaded the recipe that was then used by the Human forces on Torgu-Va to make this chemical and bullets for the M1 Garand rifle. Doctor Janice Eardman could smell cordite in the air at the Federation Battle Station Torgu-Va. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
