The issue starts out with Captain America, being shown sky diving into a dense forest in Vietnam, without a parachute. He is sent by the US government to neutralize the surviving Viet Cong members from the Vietnam War, who has taken many hostages from local villages and tortured them in pleasure of their sadistic and brittle minds. Then, Captain America lands down with his own feet, suffering no damage and checks his radio. There, he communicated with his radio contact and guide, Sharon Carter. Sharon told Cap that the Howling Commandos are pinned down in a village near a river, and they're overwhelmed and requested immediate back-up.

Sharon told Cap that the Howling Commandos are pinned down in a village near a river, and they're overwhelmed and requested immediate back-up. File:Quote1.pngNeed a hand, people?File:Quote2.png --Cap to the Howling Commandos In a surprising speed, Cap quickly runs over a great distance and in a matter of seconds, he arrived in the village where the Commandos are pinned down. Cap immediately takes down two "rebels" and cleared the whole village by himself, freeing hostages in the process. Cap asks the leader of the squad, Timothy Dugan about what has happened. Dugan replied that the rebels have been dominating a large amount of villages in the nearby area and it is up to them to free the villages. The rebels seemed to have a collection weaponry rivaling those of the US army that time (2005). Cap then said that they are still not much of a problem, as they know nothing. After that, Cap and the Commandos finished off the remaining rebels and freed all the hostage in the rebel controlled areas. Then, Cap lets the Commandos to get a rest for a while, and after that, Cap requested Sharon Carter for an extraction. The mission is done. But Cap was a bit surprised when he heard that someone needed him for a bigger job. Minutes after that, Cap's extraction has arrived, but there is someone who he doesn't know appearing out of the ship. Sharon herself then appeared before the man and told Captain America that the man is Nick Fury, an agent of the US government who was sent to give Steven a new mission. Cap then entered the extraction ship with the commandos, and there, Nick Fury told him that Cap is a good man for a deadly job. Cap replied that he always get a life-threatening job every day. Fury however, told hhim that this mission is far more dangerous than anything he has ever faced. While so, Fury showed the video recordings of Steven's past missions and events, including his time when he was injected with the Super Soldier serum back in the 1940s. Fury told him that in this mission, he might have found his own match. Cap then sarcastically said that there is no one else in the world who is like him. He's one of a kind. But then, Fury responded by saying that there is someone, leading an organization called "HYDRA", who is developing soldiers similar to him. Sharon Carter then told Cap that it's no joke. In France, intelligence said that there is a "super-soldier" rampaging around Paris at night a week ago. Cap thought that it's just a mad man, but Fury warns Cap that it is serious. With no other options, Cap accepted the mission and prepares to go to France in search of the rogue super-soldier.
