Nobody knows the exact date the monastery at Light’s Summit was founded, or even who commissioned or built it. Several theories have been proposed by scholars and men of the faith over the years, though none have been proven to this date. The most popular among these theories is that the monastery was constructed on the orders of Saint King Alen Capewell himself, following his march back home after conquering the Arbor.

  • Nobody knows the exact date the monastery at Light’s Summit was founded, or even who commissioned or built it. Several theories have been proposed by scholars and men of the faith over the years, though none have been proven to this date. The most popular among these theories is that the monastery was constructed on the orders of Saint King Alen Capewell himself, following his march back home after conquering the Arbor. Most people who oppose this theory are members of the clergy in other duchies, unwilling to admit the importance the monastery would have if it was indeed commissioned by the founder of the Faith himself. Cracked and ancient, the stonework of the building seems to support the popular theory. However, due to religious importance of Florham, the monastery remained secluded and relatively unknown until the Crags became a duchy on their own. Needless to say, the newly formed Duchy’s clergy was quick to choose it as their headquarters.
